Any recommendations on a DJ? I want a non-cheesy and competent person. My guests will bring the party, they just need to not suck. Is this possible for $1K or under?

FI talked to one last week, and the guy kept him on the phone for almost an HOUR talking about stuff and crap we don't want, and never even gave him prices. He sent an e-mail with price lists and they started at $1500. We just want someone to play good songs!

Another DJ e-mailed me back and had some good press in some bridal magazines- with brides who had budgets of $30K and $80K!

The place I've seen recommended several times is http://allnightlongdjs.com/ but I have not had a chance to personally call them; been meaning too, just busy with holidays.

What was the one you found in the magazines?

Yeah someone suggested AllNightLong a few posts ago. Said they range $600-$750 for 4 hours. I don't know if that includes lighting.

All night long quoted me $600 for the "maggianos special rate" but they said that it runs $850 usually. That includes tax but not tip, and it is for 4 hours. If anyone wants the info they sent me send me a PM with your email and I will forward it to you. We are going to book them but I have just been lazy about getting back to them! I hope they are good, but since they have been reponsive qucikly to emails, they already have an A with me!

Sound Fusion was the one who e-mailed snippets from magazines. They look awesome! But it seems like they'll be pricey.

I have allnightlong booked for our reception, they are charging me $600. Deposit was half and its non refundable.

We used ANL for DJ & Photo. Our cost for 4hrs was $1000 (December special). For an additional $500 we were able to buy a CD with all our pictures on it. (Although we're going to be ordering a canvas print and couple of parents albums from them)

We had Lantz as our DJ & Jennifer as our Photographer.

Thay offer a package that also includes video and I strongly recommend it, as that was my biggest regret.

I used someone I found off Craigslist a week before my wedding and I was take a huge risk.. but one that paid off. He's trying to be an up and coming big Vegas DJ which I am sure there is hard to do. Anyways he charged me $200 for unlimited hours..or $65 an hour. He does a lot of mixing but I like club sounding music. He actually is working at the Crown Club at the Rio for NYE. Ill check to see if he has an ad posted on craigslist.
