Long Distance Bride Needs Recommendations for Budget Venues

I'm a Chicago bride and I need help! My fiance's family all reside in St. Louis, so we are having the wedding down there so that they can all come. I'm having a heck of a time finding venues w/in our price range. Our budget is super small ($2500) and the guest list is at least 100. It's my second wedding, so I'm really indifferent to all this, but it's his first wedding and I'm trying to make it everything he's wanted it to be. It's a year away, but I'm already feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Can anyone give me the names/locations of any sites that are inexpensive? Or just suggestions on how to have a decent wedding w/ such a small budget? Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

For your guest capacity and budget, you might want to check out The Thaxton Speakeasy downtown St. Louis. It's a very elegant, eclectic and intriguing art deco style reception venue (they also host ceremonies too), with an artsy lower area for dancing and an upper area for dining. Their base price to rent the venue starts at $1000. Not sure what their catering options are though, but it just may work for your budget. Best wishes! Amanda
