Reception Venue in or around Austin, TX

Hello all,

I am recently engaged and am just starting the process of finding vendors and figuring out our budget.  Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced reception hall/venue/ballroom in or around South Austin for 300 people or less?
I greatly appreciate any and all help.  Congrats and hope ya'll have a great wedding day!!

Revision: I guess I should mention that this will be a January winter wedding (well TX winter) and we are looking to keep our budget for a the reception rental to below $4000.

Thanks again for all the help!
Sarah

If you don't mind-- can you provide a budget and also what you envision your wedding to be like? It would generate more responses! :)

I would totally recommend Hummingbird House.  It's in Manchaca (just on the edge of South Austin).  I just got married there on Saturday –– we also had the reception there. It is a beautiful place, and Danny (the guy who runs the place) is a dream to work with.  He thinks of EVERYTHING!!!!

I felt as though I were on the show Platinum Weddings!

I went to a wedding recently that was held at Lakeside Pavillion in Marble Falls.  It is set on the edge of the lake there and can handle 300 guests easily.  The rates were extremely reasonable !!  Besides the deposit, the fee varied around $400 - 500 and included furniture rental charges.

It was about a 40 minute drive from the 'Y' at Oak Hill.  The drive was quite pleasant and quick and we did a round trip there along with spending 3 hours at the wedding.  There were also a number of nearby hotels in Marble Falls.
