Wedding Day Make-Up

Hi Ladies!

I'm just starting to research make up artists in the area but I am completely clueless on this topic. I rarely wear make up and when I do it's not a lot.

I'm getting married in Snohomish so I'm looking for someone who is will to travel and apply make up on location. Does anyone have any recommendations? I just emailed a bunch of people for pricing but haven't heard back quite yet.

I'm looking for a good price, and also a very natural look. I still want to look like myself and not feel like I have pounds of make up on my face! :)

Any helpful tips are greatly appreciated... still haven't decided if I want regular make up vs. airbrush, so any suggestions regarding that would be helpful as well!

Thank you!

I'm  in the same boat you are - getting married August 2012 in Everett.  I don't know when to start looking or what exactly to look for.  Thanks for asking this, I hope there are helpful answers!

Congrats on both of your weddings!

I went with Megan, who owns Off White Make-Up and Beauty. She did my hair and make-up

I don't wear a whole lot of make-up either, and wanted a natural look. I used the airbrush foundation. Of course I cried on my wedding day and you would have never known by looking at my face. Make-up didn't budge!! She did an amazing job! I had a trial with her about a month before my wedding, then found a whole new hair style. The day of my wedding I showed her a picture of the hair style I wanted and it looked beautiful.
She came to my hotel to do BM, MOB/MOG, and my hair and make-up. Two of her assistants also came. Megan is based in Seattle, so there might be traveling fees beyond a certain distance. You'd have to ask.

I was very please with her!

I got married in Stanwood (North Snohomish County), and I used Pacific Artistry ( http://www.pacificartistry.com/ ).  I found PA to be the best deal for BM H/MU (I had 5 girls).

    Thanks ladies for your responses!

Is there anyone that didn't go for the airbrush, just used regular make-up? My apartment manager offered to pay for my make-up if I went with Jara Mohlman (she knows her personally) and I am just beyond humbled! She doesn't offer airbrush though, which I am kind of disappointed about. However, I originally was not even going to have someone do my make-up so regular is better than none! Plus, it is just beyond amazing that my apartment manager is offering to pay for it!

Does anyone have any experience with regular make-up on your wedding day? Any pictures they can share? Also has anyone used Jara Mohlman? Her website is www.jaramohlman.com

When I was a BM in my friend's wedding in July '10, I had "regular make-up" and not airbrushing, and it was fine and it held through the wedding and reception.  The best way to see if you want to use a MUA is to do a trial run, and make sure you like the way they do your make-up.

They've got a great site, but they don't mention anything about pricing - do you remember how expensive they were?

She also said that for July 7th 2012 I had to spend $500 minimum.

There was more pricing that she sent along and additional info. I know I'm kind of late in responding but if you contact them someone will email you back pretty quickly - I received a response the same day! :)
