i voted 500-1000. our vacations are usually within driving distance so we dont spend that much.

I voted 1000-3000. It's about the average for our vacations. If we go somewhere within driving distance, it's closer to 1000. But when we went to London we spent close to 3 grand.

I said 501-1000. We usually go to Myrtle Beach each year and drive down (stopping for good southern food and NC air along the way).

If we were to go anywhere where we needed to fly I'd say the 1001 to 3000 bracket.

We usually drive places. Okay we've always driven place. WDW (belated-HM) will be our first real flying vacation. Besides the one weekend we went to FL to visit my dad and it was a long horrible weekend, and I regret dragging DH along with me (he was just bf then). My father even asked me if I was pregnant since I brought my bf with me. I brought him with me so I would go crazy the three days I had to spend down there.
Anyway, we do it cheap. We did a week in the OBX last summer, but it was pretty reasonable and we set money aside for it for a few month.

Normally we just go on short weekend trips to NC to visit my family, those are cheap.

But when we went to the DR to an all inclusive resort we payed for EVERYTHING about 1500.

I'm in the 3000-5000 range because we have my FSS and that's what our Disney trip is going to cost for 3... But FI and I would usually spend less... closer to 1000, i suppose.

I would say it would depend on what vacation we are taking about. My DH and I are spending 5 days in Outer Banks with his family this summer and will spend like $500... We just booked Key West (thanks for wedding hotel points) and will spend total around $700-800 including air and spending money)... But we went to Cabo San Lucas in July 2009 and for both of us spent around $3000 total for 8 days/7 nights...

I would say we do most of our "nice" vacations with our families, and they end up footing the majority of the bill. If it's just us, we've only done local, with the exception of Las Vegas.

I voted 0-500 because we usually take a week down the shore at my parent's shore house (read: free) so the only money we are spending is on gas, groceries and the occational restaurant bill. I'd say we rarely go over $300.

Now that we have paid down some of our bigger bills (car payments, credit cards, wedding) I think we are going to start saving and take better trips.

I said 1001-3000... we usually take 1 big trip in March (key west, cruise...), then weekend trips here and there. Mainly to NC to see FI's kids, but we've also went to busch gardens, and maybe OCMD this summer, etc.

i voted for 0-500. We don't go on vaca that often... but when we do, it's short trips. This weekend is basically free to us because the lodge pays for the suite, and the food is pretty much paid for. The only thing we're paying for is extra liquor, a dinner for us tomorrow night, and any shopping I want to do.

I voted 1000-3000 but really, I try to always keep it below 1k by using FF miles, hotel pts, timeshare exchanges, etc... So retail value would be in that range, but our actual out of pocket I try to always keep under 1k.
