Flowerless wedding: what does the bride and bridesmaids carry?

I want to do an entire flower free wedding but I'm not sure what the bride should carry down the aisle and what should the bridesmaid have? Also, do I have to get a bouquet anyway for the "bouquet toss"? suggestions for alternatives?? or is this  really dumb idea..

    Are you being escorted down the aisle?  If you are then there's no need to carry anything.  For your BM, they can carry clutches.  

    If you're not having flowers then just skip the bouquet toss.  I'm not really a fan of them anyway since it's kind of pointing out all your single friends.  I never liked it when I was single, but that's just me.  No one will miss it if you decide not to have it.

    I would skip the bouquet toss altogether. We had flowers and didn't do it, and nobody cared.

    You/your girls can carry pretty much anything in lieu of flowers. You could do a clutch, a button bouquet, a wire bouquet (http://manolobrides.com/2009/04/02/lovehate-the-bride-on-a-wire-edition/). The options are endless.

    At my mother's wedding we carried candles decorated with ribbon. If done right, it can look nice.

    I have heard of people carrying lanterns, balloon bouquets, clutches, ribbon wands, Bibles, Fans, Fur Muff in the Winter (had a cousin that did that).  You are only limited by your imagination!

    I love the idea of the clutch or I was also thinking maybe a colored fan?
