So I'll be heading up to Des Moines this afternoon for my first shower. This one is being hosted by my mom and sister/MOH. Since I'm getting married in Puerto Vallarta my sister came up with the idea of doing a Mexican-themed shower, so I'm kind of excited for it. Hopefully it turns out to be a lot of fun.
And, OH YEAH, my mom and FMIL are MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER (this, knotties, is what you call 'burying the lead'). This despite the fact that FI and I have been dating for almost 8 years. It's kind of bizarre just thinking about it--bizarre that they haven't ever met and also bizarre that they are finally meeting. It's more of a not ever being in the same vincinity of one another thing than it being intentional though. I just hope it goes well and is not awkward.
