All of my emotions have been wedding-related lately. I don't know if this is good or bad.

The last time I was really pissed was when I found out that FMIL waited 5 months to decide that she couldn't sew the custom tuxedo vests that we decided to have our guys wear and realized it would cost me $400 to buy them.

I was really happy at my bridal shower on May 1. It was so much fun!

I cried a few weeks ago when FI told me that the make-up I tried on made me look like a stripper.

The men-folk can be so mean. They don't know what they're talking about anyway. I will bring home clothes I buy and show FI. Sometimes he'll tell me it's "just ok" or he doesn't like it but when I put it on he ends up loving it. After I wrote all that I realize it's not really the same thing...but point being they can be clueless about fashion and our feelings.

Hehe. No, I hear you. FI is the same way. Sometimes he's spot-on... other times we just have to agree to disagree.

And actually, this make-up situation... I was trying out liquid eyeliner (which I've never really used before). So I'm sure it was on thick. And he actually told me that I look like my sister.... who is a stripper. So I totally overreacted. But it still made me throw that eyeliner in the trash. Ha!

That just made me laugh. Those strippers and their crazy liquid eye liner!

I tried to the liquid eye liner for a short while but for some reason it looks like I got super drunk and tried to apply my eye makeup every time I try to wear it. I'm sticking with the old fashion pencil kind.

A friend of mine showed me a trick (I'm sure it's not new) of getting an angled eyeshadow brush a little wet, dipping it in a eyeshadow (grey or black or whatever) and lining my eye with it that way. It's just as striking but not quite so.... stripperish.

AATB- Naw, keep it! I kind of like it! And I'm probably the only person in the world who sees that photo that way.

We got this caricature done at an art fair a couple of years ago... I bought that hat from a vendor at the fair because I thought it was cute. I've worn it maybe twice.

It's actually just a bucket hat (taqiyah made me laugh though!) This is the actual hat:

LOL on the makeup thing. Like a PP said, I do hope though that FI would be honest if I looked like a stripper or whatnot. Was this potential wedding makeup? Because I have said to FI several times that too many people I know don't even look like themselves in their wedding photos because they have makeup caked on and never wear it like that. I'm sure that it was his way of saying "Ew, no, that totally doesn't look like you." but could have worded it that way. Boys...

Pirata- yes, it was potential wedding makeup. I'm still convinced I'm going to do my own, because I've never liked it when other people have done it for me. And I definitely don't want that caked-on-fake look.

And I totally agree that if I look terrible, I hope FI would tell me. This particular situation though, I thought I looked good and was quite proud of myself. Plus I was PMS'ing in a terrible kind of way. Which probably didn't help with the overreaction.
