Hello and stressing...

First of all- wanted to introduce myself- I have made a few posts but haven't had a chance to lurk until now! I am getting married in September and wish I found these boards sooner- you Ladies have some great ideas and experiences!

Now the stressing part... my dress came in about 2 weeks ago and I went to try it on and make sure it was the right dress and all that (my fittings aren't until late summer) and it is really snug- about 3 inches too snug! did anyone have trouble fitting into the their dress the first time it came in? Did it work out okay?
I have started watching what I eat and exercising more but I am worried its not going to be enough! ugh...

Do what you're doing with working out and eating right. I would move up your first fitting a bit so the seamstress has time to let everything out if need be.

Thanks Bean! Thats a good idea- they suggested that I come back in mid-August. Maybe I should make an appt in late June or July to see what the damage is!

Jen - You have 5 months so I would take a deep breath for now and come up with a strategy and a back up plan.  If your goal is to lose some weight, then def start watching what you eat.  I've heard that watching what you eat contributes more to weight loss than exercise but def have a good balance of both.  If losing weight isn't really your goal, then perhaps as your seamstress if she's able to take it out a bit.  It's good that you went to an intial fitting and have some time to figure out what to do.

Also - I've lost 3 inches around my waist since Nov. (so 5 months).  I've been counting calories and working out 3-4 times/wk so it's def doable!

Thanks YSL- you are right, I have 5 months and should relax! I made up a plan yesterday so hopefully it works and its enough time! My mother was there for the "fitting" so it doesn't help to have her on my case now!
Awesome about your 3 inches- congrats!

I looked at Talamore and LOVED it! I'm jealous! I love the two-floor ballroom and the outdoor ceremony space.

Thanks Bean- I am pretty excited and hoping it doesn't rain! I choose it b/c we are having the cermony outside and I liked their space for that reason!
Where did you pick for yours?

We ended up with The Radnor Hotel in St. David's. It also has a really nice outdoor area, but not nearly as awesome of a ballroom.

I managed to drop 40lbs over the past month using sparkpeople.com.  It's a free online food & exercise diary website that I HIGHLY recommend.
