Monday Mornin folks!

Good Morning!  We had our first snowfall last night.....I love driving to work after the first snowfall, you always get to drive so slow and look at the scenery because the car in front of you goes 15 mph like he's driving in the Will Smith video for Summertime.

Anyhow.  Fantasy Footballers.......I handed Steels No Names her first loss of the season yesterday.  WOOT to the WOOT WOOT!!!!

    Morning.

Stacks, I miss the snow. There is something about the first snowfall or two that is just so pretty. It makes me wonder if it is going to be a bad winter up there.... H and I are coming home in January and we are driving. I am worried it is going to be a bit treacherous. It is just too expensive to fly.

It is actually quite cold here, but nothing unusual to us. It actually makes me feel more at home. Now if we just had a bit of that snow...

I am feeling a lot better today, just have this cough that I can't seem to shake. We didn't get home until late from church last night, so both the hubs and I are pretty tired. Bed early tonight. This is going to be a busy week with our Christmas play and all.
  • Are you in a play?  Or your preschoolers?  I can't imagine organizing preschoolers for a play.  Mr Stack is sick too.....it took 5 days of feeling like he was going to get sick, to actually get sick.  I hope it doesn't stick around too long for him.

Yes, our preschool class is putting on a play called Christmas All Around. You would laugh if you saw them practicing for it. I pray that Thursday night is not going to be a disaster. I am narrating the whole thing, so I guess you could say I am in it, while my other teacher is cueing the kids on where they need to be.

We have so many wild and crazy boys that can't follow normal directions in the classroom let alone perform in a play. I mean the roles aren't that big and only 2 kids have speaking parts, and they are 2 that are going to be awesome.

Yeah, our director is pretty much out of her mind. She has a big head and ego and thinks this is going to compare to Broadway or something. I guess she will be sadly mistaken. My other teacher and I will just be glad when it is over, it has caused us so much stress and aggravation, esp dealing with our director when she comes in and wants to change this and that when we already have told the kids something else....ugh.
  • I have a lot of little chores to do today and I am not looking forward to it.

Yesterday FI and I went to get new cell phones, and it was a horrible experience. The closest verizon dealer isn't a real verizon store and the guy working in there knew next to nothing. Long story short we both wanted blackberries, but the first lady we spoke with gave us the wrong price.. about $100 per phone wrong, so we turned our attention to the driods. They are having a buy one get one free driod sale, but if you do it in store you actually have to buy TWO and then in about 6 weeks get your rebate for the one.. and then the guy tells us that its an instant rebate online.. so why the hell would we buy it in the store?

So we go home fire up the laptop and spent the next 2 hours wading through it. FI was on some chat with a salesperson and it turns out MOST of their phones are buy one and get one.. so we were able to get TWO blackberries for $50 less than we would have spent on ONE if we bought it from the store.

    Long story. Exciting I know.

  • WOW Missysue.......that's quite the project.  Let us know how it goes!  I just picture Jocelyn's Thanksgiving Tea they had where they sang songs and only 2 kids from her class actually sang (one was Jocelyn)  Except she's a multi tasker and picked her nose at the same time.  It was pure singing preschool gold!

The Thanksgiving Tea sounds really cute and something kids this age could handle without any problems. I just think this play is a little too much for this age group. If they were a few years older, then I see no problems in it.

I am sure we are going to have a couple nose pickers, too and probably some of our special needs kids singing way off tune. But at least those are the little things that make it fun.

I will be sure to let you know how it goes bc my other teacher and I are going out for drinks to celebrate it being over. And my director is even giving me Friday off, and having my other teacher work part of the day (which the day is so short anyway). I guess that was the least she could do all the sh!t she has put us through with it.
  • Morning! Today is my only workday this week (yay!) because I am getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow (boo). I'm scared and trying not to think about it because it makes me feel sick.

Rosie, that is a sweet deal.

Everyone is different with wisdom teeth. Most people do just fine. I had a heck of a time though bc mine were impacted and I only got 2 out. If they aren't impacted and you don't have any complications, you should be good to go in just a few short days.

My Dad had his out as an adult and he was eating steak 2 days later, not me though. I was still eating the pain meds like candy.
  • Oh Missy, I hope I'm like your dad. I know it's just so different for everyone, so I'm just crossing my fingers I'm one of the quick recovery people. We have a wedding to go to on Saturday, so my goal is to be normal-ish by then.
  • Good Luck tomorrow Emily.  I hope I never need mine out.
  • Morning. Is it Friday yet?
I'm tired so I have nothing good to contribute.

  • Morning, ladies! We had some snow flurries yesterday as I was driving to church, and DH said it was snowing on him last night as he drove home from work, but it wasn't enough to accumulate. I'm a little bummed aobut that, but not surprised.

I got 4 gingerbread house's worth of pieces baked yesterday. My sister and her family arrive on the 19th (and I'm so excited I can't stand it), and my brother and his family arrive the 22nd. So on the 23rd I'm assembling gingerbread houses with my children, nieces, and nephew. Ages 12, 9, 9, 7, 7, and 4. Hot chocolate all around, but mine will be laced with peppermint schnapps.

Emily, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out. I say "taken," but it would be more accurate to say "chiseled," because all 4 were impacted, with bone growing on top. Now that you've stopped cringing, I was back to eating steak within 2 days. It was NOT a big deal.
  • Good luck tomorrow, Em.  My H got all four wisdom teeth out last year, in two different procedures (each side at a separate time).  He said the first time was easy and he felt fine afterward.  I hope yours goes as well.

Good morning, all.  It's freezing here in CT.  We got our first snowfall (little tiny bit of snow) last night.  Supposedly there will be flurries during the day, but it's pretty sunny so I'm not holding my breath for it.  I wish it would snow though, if it's going to be this cold.

  • Good morning, everyone!! :) Happy Monday! And yaay for lots of snow! We didn't get much where we live... but there's probably 10 inches outside my office here. That's Lake Effect snow for you. Love it!
  • Good morning! wouldn't you know that yesterday was the first day that I just said EFF FANTASY FOOTBALL. I'm not going to make any changes and see what happens. Did you see? I'm winning. Good lord. But WAY TO GO STACKS!! :)

  • Morning ladies!  I had a good weekend, on Saturday H and I ran some errands, took a nap, then went to my company Christmas party which was fun.  And by fun I mean there were free drinks and free food so...that was about it :)

Yesterday we just lounged around, put up the (fake) Christmas tree and got the garland on, but were too lazy to unwrap all of the ornaments so we'll do that this week.

  • Good morning! Why do weekends have to go by so quickly?
    image
  • Oh Emily, my sympathies!

We had a very nice weekend.  Lots of kids' activities.  Yesterday I made cake balls, and H make dinner - roast tenderloin, baked potatoes sauteed mushroom, and roast asparagus.  Yum.  We had our  first snow of the year - about 3 inches.

  • Just discovered that one of the cats yakked on the bed. thanks guys.

I do not know. I went to a friend's birthday party on Saturday that lasted all day - afternoon bbq that turned into staying til 10:30 - and it was SO fun that I wouldn't have changed anything about the day, but it also meant that yesterday I felt like I had a million things to do. I just need 3 day weekends every weekend, can we make that happen please?

ME TOO! My record's so awful I just couldn't care enough to update my roster this week. And there I am, with a 20 point lead.

But aside from that, eff Monday. I'm so tired I can't see straight and after popping a tire last night, it looks like we're going to replace the whole set today. We'd been putting it off forever, and it looks like we can't any longer.

  • I'd be all for every weekend being a 3 day weekend for sure.  We spent the weekend in the town FI is from with my parents and little sister.  My sister had a bowling tournament there, and our parents met for the first time.  Everyone got along!

  • Good morning ladies!  I live in Florida so we had no snow.   But it is 25 degrees outside, so my walk into work was cold.

  • Ugh, I have to tell a travel agent we're not using her for our anniversary trip in March. My friend raves about her and is friends with her, but twice the rate she quoted us for a hotel was more than the rate on the hotel's website. Umm, no. I know it's business, and it's fine, I just always feel awkward having to say no after people have spent some time providing a quote (obviously not that much time, but whatever), especially because of the friend connection.
  • Morning!  Stacks - I watched the UC vs. Pitt game (in Cincy) and couldn't believe how ugly the weather looked.  It was a beautiful, sunny (albeit cold) weekend in Boston.  Back to the grind eh?

The black lab is Jake and the chocolate lab is KC (short for KC Chiefs, my dad got to name her).  They are actually living with my parents.  I live in a small apartment with no yard, and my parents have a huge yard with a pool that they love.  This picture is actually really old.  KC isn't a puppy anymore.  Jake's favorite thing to do is steal all the toys from KC, and KC's favorite thing to do is step on Jake's head.  They also enjoy cuddling with each other when they aren't being mean to each other.  I miss them like crazy, but I would never make them live in an apartment.  They're big and need space.  I live near my parents and see them often though!

  • Please tell me Jake is neurotic like our black lab. I need reassurance that I am not alone in the world with a crazy black lab.
