NWR (clearly, haha): What determines the order of posts on the page?

How exactly does TK sort threads on the forums? It doesn't appear to sort by newest reply OR by newest thread. This has baffled me since day 1 of my membership, and I'm finally bothered enough by it to ask.

Ummm it's sorted by the time they're started, which is technically by "newest thread". Is it really that hard to figure out?

I do miss the sorter.
