FM addresses...

Should I write out "Farm to Market 1234" on the invite or just put FM 1234??
Thanks!

[QUOTE]I don't know what Farm to Market is, but I would be extra confused by just FM.

It's a rural US and more commonly a Texas thing.

Wikipedia (if you want to believe it) says:

Although these roads are signed "farm road" or "ranch road" (or simply "FM" and "RM" on larger sign assemblies), the proper name is Farm-to-Market and Ranch-to-Market Road.

  • Sorry girls...it is a Texas thing - lots of random 2 lane (sometimes all gravel) roads out here! Some of FI family lives outside (very outside) the city - hence the "farm to market."  (basically allows ranchers or farmers to transport their products from the "farm to the market" to sell) However, don't let stereotypes fool you - some of the biggest houses I've seen are on FM roads down here and come with acres and acres of land.
    Sorry for the confusion!!
  • Wow you definitely learn something new every day. I would probably write the whole thing out.
