I had another spell this afternoon where I almost passed out. I think I should probably go to the doctor but I am fairly certain I just have hypoglycemia and I just need to eat more.

Anna, I LOVED that book.

Another one I loved, but was really odd, and a true story, was Strange Piece of Paradise by Terri Jentz. She survived a terrible attack and then went back to try and investigate who did it when they never solved the crime.

I'm in the midst of a Kathryn Casey true crime novel (hers are all Texas crimes), a Jeffery Deaver novel, and a Lisa Gardner novel. WTF am I thinking?

• Rosie, I think I'm hypoglycemic, as well. I was pre-diabetic prior to surgery, now it's gone the complete opposite direction. Who'd have thunk it, huh?

I keep a jar of glucose tablets by my nightstand (grape - yum), but if John's home or I can get to the fridge, I get a Coke and some cheese/crackers and maybe a pudding or something.

No, but I'm going to add it to my list. I love time travel stuff and survivalism stuff. Sounds like it's right up my alley :)
• I used to love lurking over there. High entertainment.

But I have something to say. I just sorta got in hot water. I was told something I shouldnt have been told. I shared it with my local boss. They wanted more detaisl that I didn't have. So I called my corporate boss. She was not suppose to share it with me. So now I have one location that has this information and the other that doesnt. If it gets back to the other plant, I'm going to be in it deep. I mean, not my fault, but I'll be the one that has to hear about it.

• I just started A Game of Thrones. One of our friends comes to our house every week to watch the TV show because he doesn't have HBO and I finally got tired of him having to explain back stories to me because he'd read the books. So now I'm reading them. The first one is really good. And H got the e version for free, so that was a bonus.

• It's not my fault at ALL. But I look at the plants like children. One of them has a piece of candy that grandma said I could give them, but mom vetoed it without me knowing. Now the other kid is going to be all...I don't care what your reason is, they had candy so we should have candy too!!!11!!

[QUOTE]Mel, what kinds of books do you like? I've recently read A Suitable Boy, Under the Banner of Heaven, and Sister of my Heart (yes, I like India, so I read a lot of books about Indians). My favorites are basically all 3 of Jhumpa Lahiri's books. I also love David Sedaris, and Nick Hornby (though I didn't love that Juliet book).

I've heard that is really good.

I've been jumping between serious non-fic and current best selling fic. Gotta get on the Hunger Games bandwagon soon, I think.

I also found out there's a conference in Seattle I want to go to in August, but I doubt that will happen. :-( BUT H used to live there and my SIL lives in Portland, so that's not terribly far, right?!

• Kiki, there was a conversation on TN's politics board yesterday about the "hive mentality" on TB. Like women who put waaaaay to much stock into their birth plans and get pissed when they have to have a C/S. Or people who think their birth went fine, but someone else tells the story of their completely traumatic birth experience and that makes others think, "Oh, maybe mine was traumatic too." Gah.

• Mery Portland is about a 3 to 4 hour drive from Seattle.

I don't mind the rain, it's the lack of sunshine that makes us all vitamin d deficient that bugs me. I have to take 2000IUs a day of vitamin d to keep my levels normal.
