I was on my lunch break and the whole building was swaying! I was sooo scarred!!!!

    YUP!!! I didn' t think it was an earthquake though.  I just thought our office building was collapsing.  I grabbed my stuff and ran, people were looking at me like I was crazy.  someone tried to stop me and asked "Why are you running?" O_o "Cuz the building is shaking!!  I can talk and run at the same time!"  CRAZY

    FSIL texted me and said her building was evacuated - she works in NYC. I'm in NC this week and I didnt feel a thing.

    I work in DC and was at lunch with a coworker in the basement of a building.  I didn't know she and I could run so fast!!  I've never felt an earthquake before and I never want to again. 

    I was shaking so bad once I got out of the building.  My coworker just got up and ran and left her bag and phone where we were sitting.  Our first thought was a terrorist attack or that an accident had occured on the subway which runs underground near where we were located. 

    We went back to the office to get our purses and called it a day as did most DC workers. It was a hot mess getting out of DC!  I've no idea how they think DC could evacuate in an organized fashion if there is (God forbid) a massive terrorist attack or a weather/act of nature related incident.  Buses and Metro are basically at a snail crawl.  Ugh!! 

    I am just thankful to God that it wasn't worse.  I can't tell you the thoughts that ran through my head at the onset of the quake at which point I didn't know what was going on.  It was frightening and you are totally helpless. 

    Makes you realize God is control and we are powerless despite what we think.

    It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

    I was in court not too far from ground zero and the building swayed back and forth like it was a kite. We all thought it was a bomb. I grabbed my stuff and ran down the stairs. I am just glad no one got hurt. I was rattled all afternoon.

    I had just returned from my lunch break, but was still in the parking lot sitting in my car. Mind you, I am super late for a tuneup. My car started rumbling & shaking. I got outta my car and looked at the hood & said, "what the hell is wrong w/ my car?" Once it stopped, I walked to the front of my bldg & found my coworkers outside. That's when I found out it was an earthquake.

    Oh yes, I felt it.  The Epicenter was a mile away from where I work.

    I live in Cali and it is so weird because people keep saying they didn't know what it was. I am like what? I know an earthquake from the moment it starts.. BUT I am sure if it started snowing in Los Angeles that would be just as bazaar and I would run out and leave my purse and phone behind too! LOL
