Guest Book - Non Traditional

Any ideas for a unique guest book....I don't want the traditional book.  I had the idea of doing Polaroids and having guests sign them but I heard they don't sell the old school film anymore.  So any other ideas for something different??

Re: Guest Book - Non Traditional

  • If you like wine, an idea is to select 3 bottles - one that will be at its peak in one year, one in 5, and one in 10. Have your guests sign them, and include a sign saying how you will open the correct bottle on that anniversary.

  • We framed an engagement picture (5x7) in a huge frame with a huge  mat.  Guests signed the mat and we're going to hanging it in our house.

  • Instead of the usual guest book, I'm putting our engagement photos on 12x12 scrapbooking paper (one picture on each page) and having guests sign on the blank space around the pictures. The pages will go into the photo album with the rest of the wedding pictures. I got the idea from a relative's wedding - I thought it was way cuter and would get more use and viewing than just the regular guest book. Plus, there's plenty of room for guests to leave little messages.
  • I saw a picture (maybe it was here) for a madlibs guestbook.  if we were having a guestbook, i would def. do that.

  • My fiance and I play the guitar and between the two of us, have more than 20 in our collection.

For our guestbook, we are having our guests sign a white guitar with markers in various shades of blue.  (Our wedding colors are white and royal blue).

We'll have the guitar 'finished' so that the guest comments dont fade and the guitar will be hung in our home as a piece of art!
  • II love the Polaroid idea as i would love to have those photos of every one attending my wedding so I've requested that my photographer photo each all the guests in front of a fun back drop. i plan to  arrange the photos with corresponding note cards in an album photo corners ( in case guests choose to write on the back!!!) i'm planning on printing out the guest pictures 4x6 so i will do 4x4 note cards for easy lay out later and i ill print each one with the 4 variations of the our bird motif used in the rest of the stationary!! ohh and they can pop them in the bowl when done!  (eek now that ive written this that sounds like a lot of work!) well good luck and congrats!

    I love that idea.
  • You can still find the Polaroid film, but it's expensive. We'll have 2 photographers, so I'll probably ask one of them to take pictures for us.
  • We are using fabric squares and having them sign and draw on those.  They will later be put together in a quilt!
  • If you can get a digitel photo program, you can put your pictures in a bounded phonto album and people can sign on anypage. I have seen this done and it so cool.
  • We are doing polaroids of all the guests and having them sign on a scrapbook page. After the wedding we will put all the polaroids on the pages where they signed.
I found a polaroid camera on ebay for $25 and the film I purchased was about $1 an exposure. It is expired but apparently the film lasts for up to 2 years past the expiration date. We have been keeping it in our fridge lol.
I hope it works but if not we will just have a relative take a picture on a digital camera and print them off later. I love the idea of having pics of all my guests.
I also love the wine idea too!
  • Hi - fuji came out w. a smaller instant camera.  I ordered one on Amazon to test it out. The pics are credit card size.  If I get it soon, I'll let you know if it is worth it or not!
