I'm on a photographer hunt

Hi Ladies,

My FI and I will be getting married in Evanston next September and I'm looking for some suggestions on photographers. We like the idea of someone who mixes "traditional" posed shots with some photojournalistic shots as well. We really want our pictures to look fresh, natural and fun. Anyone have suggestions?

You should check out Travis of Wasabi Photography. He's a trained photojournalist, but still does the traditional shots you need. He's absolutely fantastic.

Janet Johnston photography!! we booked her asap because she fills up quick. amazing personality, warm and friendly.. easily spend my entire day with her there. need to have that connection and make sure you are able to meet your photographer BEFORE the wedding day, even at the initial consultation.. that was important to us.

Definitely check out Two Birds Photography. They do amazing work both on the photography and album design. We used them and two other personal friends used them as well and we all have wonderful things to say!

AO Photographers is amazing too. They are a husband and wife team. You get them both with no time restrictions, and they include an engagement session plus you get all your edited images on a disc. All for $1,000. I think they are new to the business, trying to make a name for themselves - but extremely talented.

we're using Mark from r3mg photography - he is amazing, has a great eye especially for the abstract, candid, photojournalistic shots, but also makes the posed shots look fresh and natural. He's easygoing, great to work with and a cool guy to talk to too.

I would pass on using them for paper products, although Brooke does an amazing job, it's not worth the $65/hour design fee on top of the price per piece you pay. I could have just ordered my paper from her, sent her my design and saved myself about $300.

They also do a photobooth too (and have a super cute option for a guest book) we're using that as well and are way excited
