Ceremony Fans - Gonna be a hot one!!

Hi everyone,

I need to find nice silk fans for our ceremony. Unfortunately, the church we are getting married in is not air conditioned. Whoops...did think of that one. Our service is labor day weekend so I wouldn't be surprised if its 80+ degrees outside. We just went to a ceremony and it was so hot and they did not provide fans so now we would like to make sure that our guests are comfortable. Any suggestions where we can buy fans in bulk at a reasonable cost? Silk fans are best since the paper ones rip.  I saw some at Michaels but are looking for a better deal.

    Also, if anyone can tell me how these fans hold up? I know they are on the cheaper side but I want to make sure that they are pieces of you know what. Thanks

They told us AFTER we booked that there's no AC, and we're getting married at the end of June.  Didn't think to ask beforehand.  We're kicking around the idea of doing fan-style programs, or we may also be interested in purchasing fans.  I'll let you know if I come across anything (and I'm interested in what others suggest, as well!)

    I was reading reviews of the wood ones on theknot.com shop and I heard that they had indentations in them. Silks ones kind of go with the ivory tone of the church. Below are the ones that I found on ebay that come in a nice box.

    We went to a wedding this past June 16ish in a large church with no AC and while it was hot- they had these industrial size fans rented (like the kind you'd see in a big school gym) and they did more harm than good. They blew everything around, didn't make it any cooler, and you couldn't hear a single thing that was going on. So overall- just be careful if you do decide to purchase actual fans!

    HAHA. Oh no! Not the big metal ones that always collect dust in them!! I was originally thinking of the personal battery fans but I was thinking that with 80 people you would just hear a constant buzz in the room. Hopefully its not too bad and the ceremony is only 30-40 minutes so people should be able to hack it.

    </div><div>Haha i wouldn't purchase actual fans, I meant the paper/silk/wooden hand ones like Pharo!  Industrial fans at a wedding seems so...odd and out of place.  I couldn't see that working.  We actually just visited the venue this afternoon and they have gigantic windows that open, so hopefully if it's hot, the combo of having a cross-breeze and people having personal fans will help :)  I just want my guests to be comfortable!

    I actually bought the silk personalized ones from the knot shop.  Got them when they were on sale with a coupon and it was free personalization (if that's important to you).  I think I paid about $120 for 100 fans - that was with shipping.  If you watch for sales you can get them pretty cheap.

    I think the quality of the silk ones are pretty nice too.
