Not the newbies here on TheKnot necessarily (although they are important too) but the newbies to the wedding business.
First, I must say that I was hesitant to even post this because I don't want to start a war but I think it is important for everyone to consider. So... a lot of you know how difficult it is to plan a fabulous wedding on a small budget. One way to do so is to hire vendors that do great work but are just starting out in the field, as their prices will be lower.
The photographer I used for my wedding had only shot a couple of weddings before mine. But she did 1000x better work than a lot of the "veteran" photographers I found in the same price range.
Of course you should be cautious when hiring someone new to the business- or any vendor for that matter! Experience doesn't mean you're good, it just means you've done it for a long time. Everyone has to start somewhere. Somebody has to be the "first client" or second or third... So give the new vendors an opportunity for your business... chances are, you will be getting an amazing deal.
