Engagement photos

Hi TC Brides,
Sorry if you already read this...I also posted in "MN" because I didn't see the Twin Cities board....I'm new here.

My fiance and I just got engaged a few weeks ago and are hitting the ground running with planning. We are actually having our wedding in Nebraska (both our families live there) but would love to take engagement photos here in the Twin Cities. Pretty much all of our friends who have had photos here got them taken at the Stone Arch Bridge, which we love, but we'd like to do something different. Any ideas for pretty outdoor places to get engagement photos? And did you like your photographer?
Thanks!Smile

Yeah, the MN board is pretty inactive, so your best bet is to come here!

We did ours at Minnehaha Falls & had a great time.  Liked our photog, but have since switched to a different one, for other reasons!

I'm sure other ladies will have some great ideas for you.  Welcome to the board! = )

We did ours downtown Stillwater with a 1950s theme. What I loved about the location was that you can end up with a ton of different backdrops without having to travel very far. You get the waterfront, old shops, brick walls, historic buildings, etc. It was really fun and we got some very unique pictures.

I went to Rochester for mine, because that is wheremy photographer is located and we could do a lot more different places down there instead of just a couple up in the cities. I am using Midwest LifeShots and I love them!

I'd recommend the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska. To see what it looks like, try doing a Google Images search, I'm sure you'll be impressed. They have acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, and they are wonderfully maintained throughout the warm weather months-- something is always in bloom.

Lake Calhoun has a lot of pretty areas and gardens around there to take pictures (it's where I did my senior pictures)  Also I know people do pics at the sculpture gardens.

We did ours today at Gale woods farms in Minnestrista.  I think they are going to turn out great.. Tons of greenery, a lake trails etc... It's worth checking out...

We did ours at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. Part of the Three Rivers Park District. We did them in fall so the colors were amazing! One thing to watch out for is certain parks and the arboretum often charge you to do professional pictures on their sites.

We did ours outside the Mill City Museum which I LOVED. Plus it's really close to the the Stone Arch Bridge if you still wanted one or two shots there.
