Inexpensive wedding venue (Wake Co area)

I am looking for a wedding venue in the Wake Co area for September 2012 and am hoping to spend as little as possible. I have found a few places but they require me to use them for the food/alcohol which is adding up very quickly. I am going to have between 125 and 150 people attending the wedding. It would be great to find a place that has tables, chairs and linens ect. that way there isn't another cost to add on.

I am in the SAME boat you are in.  I'm also looking for something inxpensive, so hopefully between the 2 of us, we can find out a few reasonable places?

Are you looking for indoor or outdoor or both? What is inexpensive to you? I think knowing those will help us give you some great suggestions!

Duke was one the only place I looked that I thought might hold over 100 people and allow us to bring our own caterer. You should check out what they have over there. I searched for a while to come up with a list of 7 venues that sounded like they would accommodate us and our desire for an offsite caterer.

                Duke Gardens

                Museum of Life & Science

                Preserve at Jordan Lake

                River Ridge Golf Club

                Rand-Bryan House

                Halls & Gardens at Landmark

                Barclay Villa

Duke was nice, lots of options, there's also a museum at Duke that looked nice as well. The Museum of Life & Science has a beautiful butterfly house that you can get married outside of and it might be a good option as well. The Preserve and Jordan Lake was much smaller than advertised (it's a golf community club house) and I found the person in charge to contradict himself a few times which was very annoying. It wouldn't comfortably fit 100. The River Ridge requires you to buy your beer, wine and liquor from them and charges a stiff price for consumption, in my opinion. The Rand-Bryan seemed small too but I guess if you split it up it might work. The Halls at Landmark, while not an ideal location on the outside was very nice inside, however the rental was over $6k and I really didn't think it was worth it (especially in its location). We chose the Barclay Villa so I'm sure I'm bias about it but I thought there'd be enough room for people to party and it's very pretty. We did go over budget but I wasn't in love with any of the other venues and I didn't want to start looking into venues that required us to use their caterer.

    Hope that helps!

We got married at The Rand-Bryan. They can do inside and outside weddings and are supposed to be able to accomodate around 300 people? I think you'd have to split it inside and outside.

We had about 60 guests and had PLENTY of room :)

Barclay Villa can accommodate you on the bold parts above, but they are not inexpensive IMO. There were many expenses that added up quickly.

Cafe Luna in downtown Raleigh does weddings also, and if you pick a Sunday, you can get a great rate.
