  The e-party, bridal shower and bachelor/bachelorette party can all be planned by anyone other than the bride and groom. Those parties are supposed to be gifts given to you and it would be rude to throw and party in your own honor. They can be planned by anyone who offers to throw them.

  Ok thank you for the info, What about throwing just a bridal party get together gm and bm just a small dinner to get to know eachother? Is it rude or weird for my FI and I to plan a "getting to know you" dinner?

  A simple get together would be fine to throw yourselves, since the party isn't really about you, it's about getting everyone together to meet and chat. It you are going to host this though just make sure that you and FI are footing the bill for dinner.

  Im having what Im calling a bridal luncheon for my bridesmaids, the 2 moms and the hostesses. I sent a letter inviting them to let them know that it was a thank for you agreeing to participate in the wedding. All other showers should come from someone else.
