I am in NW Wisconsin. This isn't a very active board, but I am wondering if I'm the only one that is not living in or near a large city?

    Not from a big city but I am within 1 hour from Madison, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac.  Just wish I was closer than 30 minutes from the nearest Michaels.

    Well I lived in Madison/my wedding is in Madison, but I just moved to Iowa City area in Iowa :)

    It's funny that the poll says the majority of people are around the Madison area, yet the majority of questions are about Milwaukee.  I kind of wish TK would split us into separate areas since all the areas of WI are SO different.  Oh well :)

    I totally agree that this board isn't very active and I think it's because everyone's locations can vary so much.

    I live in Eagle River, northern WI....I'm getting married in Green Bay where I grew up though.  When I first joined this board (over a year ago, we've been engaged a while!) Green Bay/Fox Valley area was trying to get their own section as well because there were lots of brides in that area, but I think most of them have gotten married already and there arent many anymore!

    I'm getting married in Appleton but grew up in one of the smaller surrounding cities.  I'm finding that a lot of what we are accustomed to or whats "normal" for us in regards to weddings is looked upon as not the right way to go about things from the posts I've seen on this website.  Am I the only one that feels this way?

    Southern Wisconsin, basically on the IL/WI border. Mine says milwaukee because it was the closest choice to where I am but the party is in Northern Illinois.

    </div><div>I'm from Fond du Lac, but our wedding will be in the teeny tiny town of Mount Calvary. There are definitely advantages to having your wedding in a small town, the reception venue is gorgeous and dirt cheap, plus they have amazing food!</div>

    I live in Green Bay and that's where my wedding will be (but I'm originally from Laona - in NE WI)

    "Milwaukee" was the closest area for me to pick.  It would be nice if we had more options - even if it was NE, NW etc

    I've definately noticed that some of what is "normal" here is frowned upon by other boards.

    I'm not having a dollar dance at my wedding, but it's something that I expect when going to others.  I also don't think that a cash bar is a big deal - I've never been to a wedding that had anything other than free beer.

    I don't spend much time on this board becuase it's not very active, but we'll all have to work to change that Laughing

    I go to school in Eau Claire, but live about an hour north of Madison.

    I wish they at least split Madison and Milwaukee.  I'm trying to get ideas for my reception, but so many of them irrelevant because they're from locations two hours away!  I can use things from Madison, but not from Milwaukee.

    I'm from Burlington!

    My ceremony is in Burlington, reception is in Waukesha and I live in Davenport, Iowa.
