    I don't know much about Arizona but MH's brother lives in San Diego and we go there often to visit. Some of my favorite things to do while out there is Old Town San Diego, The Gas Lamp District, The San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, and going to La Jolla to see the seals on the beach.

    When are we talking about? Now, I vote San Diego all the way (I'd kill to get out of the heat this time of year).  After your wedding? I'd vote stay-cation...San Diego is chilly in the winter, and AZ is beautiful (if more expensive than, um, now).
