Re: Something old, new, borrowed, blue???

  • Fun!!
Old- I'm using a piece from my mom's veil and dress as what goes around the "handle" of my bouquet instead of ribbon or new lace.

    New- Dress/veil/heels...basically everything I'm wearing!
Borrowed- Not sure yet! Any ideas? :)
Blue- I'm going to have the pieces on the bottom of my shoes that say "I" on the left and "Do" on the right..if you're not sure what I mean, there are a lot of different examples on Etsy.com. In a Catholic ceremony, when the bride and groom kneel, everyone in the pews can see the bottom of your shoes..it just looks really cute!

Can't wait to read some more!

  • New: Everything I'm wearing.

Old: I have a ring my step-grandmother gave me in her will.

Blue: My engagement ring has a blue sapphire on the inside for my something blue.

Borrowed: I have NO idea!  I like the idea of earring from the parents, so I can see if my mom has anything that matches.

  • Old: my grandma's wedding ring that I inherited when she died, tied around the stem of my bouquet.

New: pretty much everything I'm wearing.

Borrowed: I don't know yet. Maybe some jewelry? Could be anything as tiny as a bobby pin I suppose.

Blue: I want to sew our wedding date into my crinoline slip (like you see on pinterest here: http://pinterest.com/pin/283515739011342426/

  • Old : a handkerchief that was my great-grandmother

    New: My dress / earrings

    Borrowed: My mothers pearls

Blue: I had crystal hair pins in my hair and a couple of them had blue in them :)

I got married last June :)

    New: everything I wore (I think that's cheating a bit...but it worked :) )

Old and Borrowed:  I did a two-for-one deal here.  My MIL let me wear the wedding ring of hubby's great-grandmother for the day.  It was so meaningful!

    Blue:  blue undies! :)

  • I also think I am going to do the blue stitching inside my dress!

Something new will be my dress.

Something old will be my late great aunt's earrings that my brother's wife wore in their wedding. It's a tradition.

Still don't know on the something borrowed...
  • My engagement ring is both an antique and blue (sapphire). I'm also going to be wearing my great-aunt's wedding ring that my grandmother gave me as my own, so I guess I'm double covered on 'old.'

In addition to my engagement ring for 'blue,' I will also be wearing blue toenail polish.

I'll have 'new' shoes and dress. Not too sure about borrowed, yet, I may try to borrow my Mom's diamond earrings.

  • Can your something old and borrowed be the same?  I am borrowing my great grandmothers jewelry to wear for the wedding.  New is just about everything I will have on and blue is the same as someone mentioned about about the I DO stickers on the shoes.  We are also having a Catholic wedding.

  • Old: A ring that belonged to my grandmother worn on a gold chain.

    New: Everything I wore.

Borrowed: A rosary that also belonged to my grandmother that I borrowed from my aunt and wrapped around my bouquet.

Blue: An aquamaring ring that belonged to my mother on the same chain as the other ring.

I also did a six pence in my shoe (also belonged to my mom), but it feel out while I was walking down the aisle. My MOH was able to find it after the ceremony though :)
