Addressing invites that I know the woman, but not her husband....List her first??

My mom is inviting a few of her friends from my childhood.  All of these women have remarried in that time frame and I have never met their husbands (or even know their names....mom is on that task right now).  On the invite, should I still list the husband's name first?

  • "Ladies first" is the usual rule, because you aren't supposed to separate the man's first and last name. So listing her first is correct. It doesn't really matter who you know better or anything like that.

  • I have no ida about this stuff. When FI"s cousin got married 5 years ago, she listed our invites as "Mr My FI fullname and Mrs/Miss".  It could just be a cultural thing.

Lady's name first only works if you're not doing "Mr. and Mrs. " with the wording.

The only time you'd list the lady's name first with titles is if she is something other than a Mrs.
