Royal Wedding: thoughts?!

I LOVED her dress, her whole look was absolutely amazing. Her bouqet was a little small in my opinion but she looked fantastic!
Pippa's dress was really nice too...not too many people could pull that off!

what did you think?

I am so glad I am not the only one who cried like a baby!!!! I don't know if it's because my wedding is getting so close or if I was just swept away in how amazing everyone looked! Her dress was AWESOME!

I loved the Royal Wedding!!!! Kate's gown, veil and jewels were stunning.

I was very disappointed in the flowers. I understand that she probably wanted to show the gown, and have an elegant look, BUT the flowers could have been a bit larger without overwhelming her. I enjoyed the symbolism of the blooms but really for a royal wedding it could have been a bit larger and a bit more attractive.

I loved the whole event, the ceremony was wonderful and the carriage ride was my favorite, with all the horses around the carriage.

And yes, I cried too!!! When they were walking up the aisle after the ceremony I couldn't help but think, by the look on his face, that William was thinking of his mother, and that made me cry.

I haven't watched it, but looked at pics on CNN. I like the dress! I thought she looked gorgeous and classic!

For the flowers, I thought the same thing, but read this on TN:

Re: the bouquet. I guess it's traditional (source):

The bouquet is a shield-shaped wired bouquet of myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth. The bouquet was designed by Shane Connolly and draws on the traditions of flowers of significance for the Royal Family, the Middleton family and on the Language of Flowers.

The flowers’ meanings in the bouquet are:

    Lily-of-the-valley – Return of happiness

    Sweet William – Gallantry

    Hyacinth – Constancy of love

Ivy: Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection

Myrtle: the emblem of marriage; love.

The bouquet contains stems from a myrtle planted at Osborne House, Isle of Wight, by Queen Victoria in 1845, and a sprig from a plant grown from the myrtle used in The Queen’s wedding bouquet of 1947.

The tradition of carrying myrtle begun after Queen Victoria was given a nosegay containing myrtle by Prince Albert’s grandmother during a visit to Gotha in Germany. In the same year, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House as a family retreat, and a sprig from the posy was planted against the terrace walls, where it continues to thrive today.

The myrtle was first carried by Queen Victoria eldest daughter, Princess Victoria, when she married in 1858, and was used to signify the traditional innocence of a bride.

Is she? I heard that was a rumor but she was actually going to go with tradition and lay it on a grave of the unknown soldier there.

Either way, I LOVED it. I taped it but I woke up on my own at 4:30am and knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep so I turned on the TV just in time to see her get in the car on her way to the ceremony. I'm kind of regretting all of that right now as it is making for a loooooong day of work and on top of everything, I have to work late

    Why Pippa wore white:

Were you as confused as us? Isn't wearing white at someone else's wedding a total fashion faux pas?

Turns out, British traditions are different than American ones. An old superstition says that bridesmaids and groomsmen should dress similarly to the bride and groom to ward off evil spirits.

And Brits have set traditions with white at weddings in more ways than one; Queen Victoria was the one who first popularized wearing a white wedding dress when she got married in 1840.

I loved Pippa's dress but was expecting Kate to have a more modern take on an elegant gown. She looked beautiful but thought the dress overwhelmed her a bit. She has such a great figure thought she'd wear something more form fitting. It was really pretty though.

    Is she really skinny!

I loved her ceremony dress; it was beautiful! I also DVR'ed the wedding, but my DVR cut off after the end of the ceremony, so I didn't see the carriage ride or the kiss. I might try to find those online somewhere.
