shower question....

I am having 2 bridal showers, one with my family and one with fi family.   I am planning on having my grandma and step mom at my families shower,  would I also invite them to FI families shower?

Re: shower question....

  • It's ultimately up to you, but personally I would.

I, too, am having two showers due to distance issues. One where we currently live with FI's family and my friends here and one where I am from with my family and friends from home. My mother and grandmother will be invited to both showers, though I'm sure they will only attend the one back home. Likewise, FMIL will be invited to both, though I'm sure she'll only attend the one here.

  • moms, sisters, grandmoms and BMs are the ones who can be invited to multiple showers :)
  • I am also going to be having two showers, as I live in Minneapolis, but I'm from a small town 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from Minneapolis.  I will be having my mom, my sister, my sister-in-law, my MOH, and my fiance's mom, and sister invited to both showers.  I think that families (aunts, cousins) would like to meet your imediate family.  I'm inviting my MOH to both because she also lives in the Minneapolis area but is from my hometown area.  And it's customary where I come from to have your MOH at all showers (granted she probably won't be at the one back home because she will be 8 months pregnant and most likely would not want to be that far away from her dr that close to her due date)

  • I'm inviting the moms and BM's to both (since half of Bm's are family) but I'm only going to invite my grandparents to the ones for their side of the family because they are on opposite sides of the state and I know they will only be coming to the ones closest to them since FI's grandmas don't drive anymore and one of mine shouldn't but does anyway.
  • I am having a shower with Friends and then one with all of our family so I don't have to worry about that. FI family is so small that we are just having everyone from both sides at one. We did this with my baby shower and it was a lot of fun.

That being said I think If i were doing two seperate that I would invite them to both!! :)

  • I am inviting friends to the family shower because they are great company.  I e-mailed the 6 friends and told them not to buy two gifts.  They were invited to the family shower to enjoy the day.
