Tacky or fun?? (wording)

Hi guys,
I'm sending out my invitations and they are sort of "formal" since our wedding will be in the evening I wanted something classy.  However, we are also a really fun, not so traditional couple so I was thinking for the reception card I would word something like this:

"Beautiful bride, handsome groom.  Booze, food and bad dance moves.  You in or what? Please join us for our reception....."

Would that be tacky or fun?  I think its fun, but again some might not.

    I don't think any mention of booze is appropriate on formal invites.

    Honestly, it sounds like the wording for a b-party invitation.  

    If you are going with anything relatively formal, I wouldn't do this.  If you are doing something super casual, it would be ok.

    Your invitations dictate the formality of your wedding.  If I got that invite, I would think you were having a very casual event, think birthday party at a local restaurant.  I would not think formal wedding.

    See, and I actually thought it was ok, but didn't particularly care for the line, "You in or what?"  Other than that it still had some level of "wedding" (I wouldn't say formal) about it.  However, do what you want and what reflects YOU! Wink

    Definitely not any kind of formal, if you sent that out I would expect people to show up wearing jeans.

    </div><div>IF you choose to do this for STD, then you need to remove the line 'you're in or what?' since people obviously don't RSVP to STDs. The rest of it is cute, but not appropriate for a wedding. You don't have to go super formal in the wording, but this sounds too much like a text/email than a wedding invitation.</div>

    This made me think of an invite for a fun couples shower for strictly friends (not older relatives), but not for a wedding. I wouldn't do it. If your guests know you guys are a fun couple, they will expect you to have a fun reception already.  You don't need to add that in the invitations because it sends the wrong message about the formality of the occassion.

    I've seen this as a save the date and it was really cute. But for an invitation, I think it's too casual.

    I agree with PPs - this says "casual" to me, not formal or classy.

    The phrase would be cute for a wedding website though!

    I agree with PP, and definitely don't care for it either.  Maybe for a STD, but not a formal invitation.

    I would ask some of your close friends their opinion. I think your guests know your sense of humor more than your fellow knotties so it may seem acceptable (in fact more appropriate than something traditional and formal) to those who know you.

    As PP has said this will really offend the older crowd.  Especially with the mention of booze and the whole you in or what thing.  I don't think anyone would think this is cute and I think everyone will think it is very informal and show up in jeans.

    As PPs have also mentioned the formality of the invitation dictates the formality of the wedding.
