waist-length 'dos I can do myself

I saw on another post that some people had suggestions for waist-length hair. I'm two weeks out and still haven't decided on a style. I polled this board to ask about a crown braid, but I am so on the fence about that. It seems like a very love/hate kind of style.

I am doing it myself so it needs to be somewhat simple. I have gradual "bangs" to my shoulder at the shortest, and the rest almost reaches my waist. After the wedding it's going to Locks of Love, i'm tired of it, but FI wants the long hair for the wedding.

....also, I am wearing a fingertip veil.

[QUOTE]One thing I've done myself for dressy occassions -- two tiny braids, starting over my ears, and pulled back to where they come together, and nothing else. Keeps it off my face, and I can do it myself. A little flower or clip there would also be pretty. Just grab that sort of triangle of hair just in front of your ear, and braid it. Also does a good job on getting any "wisps" pulled back into it -- at least I have a bunch of those, and without a professional curl/spray job they can go everywhere, but pulling them into a tight braid keeps them put. It's a lot less braidy than a crown braid. Like this one but with only the lower braid. http://weddings.theknot.com/Real-Weddings/42512/detailview.aspx?id=42512&type=3&specific+detail=half+updos

Ooh oooh! I love this! Thanks so much, I really wanted to incorporate braids somehow for him, but I had no idea how to pull it off and still look glamorous. This will also prevent my very un-glamorous habit of stuffing it behind my ears. I am totally stealing this!
