Brazilian Waxing

Alright so I don't know where else to go, but I was wondering who does this and how long before the wedding night you would want to do this. Haha I know its a little personal, but I was hoping to catch someone with a little experience in this department who can impart some wisdom on when to get one before my date and relatively how long they last.  Thanks Ladies!

I go to the local spa. There are European wax centers popping up across the country that do this too. If it's your first time you should go about 3 or 4 days before the wedding because the area gets sore and red. Ie not a good wedding night look. Take an aspirin an hour before you go and it will help with the pain. They last anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

  • Agree with PP, also make sure you exfoliate everytime you shower after the waxing to help stop the ingrown hairs followed by a good moisterizer.
  • I got mine done the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding.
  • Ouch sounds more like it

I go to European Wax Centers too. Ideally, you want to try it out a few times before the wedding & not wait until the last minute. Some are more sensitive than others & can take more time for the redness to leave. Most take just 1-2 days. <div>
</div><div>Just a note, do NOT take aspirin before going. Take an NSAID, such as ibuprophen or naproxen. That will help you with the swelling. Aspirin isn't a blood thinner, but it inhibits your bloods clotting ability. So, if you bleed a little (like I did), the aspirin will make it bleed even more than IBU will. Plus, IBU helps with the swelling, while aspirin doesn't.</div><div>

  • You could also try sugaring, same principle, but it it not as painful.

If you're into eco-friendliness (I'm not particularly), sugaring is all natural )literally, it's like sugar ad lemon and something else).  I've had waxes and sugaring and I LOVE sugaring, it is a lot less traumatic.

Lasts as long or longer than waxing.  Recovery is quicker by a day, in terms of ouchiness.

I love sugaring!! I make the stuff myself and do my arms, stomach, etc. But I cannot do a Brazilian on myself. Believe me, I have tried. But between trying to get the right angle and so forth, it just never works out for me. I am planning to go to European Wax center to do the brazilian, and do everything else myself with the sugar.

You're brave! I am too chicken to try anything on myself.

I go to a sugaring salon where they mainly focus on sugaring.  Maybe I'll try my legs myself... what is your recipe??

2 Cups of Sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup water. I boil it until it's a dark amber color. There's a video on youtube that shows how long to cook it and whatnot: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2BLZgIKuXI" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2BLZgIKuXI</a>
