Shhh... Quiet down.

I can hear a pin drop on carpet today. How's the weather? What are your plans for the weekend? Anything exciting/ looking forward to next month (besides Valentines)?

Re: Shhh... Quiet down.

  • It has been quite cold when it's dark out but just lovely during the day. Cool enough to wear tights still but warm enough to only go out with a sweater.

My plans for the weekend are to continue house sitting/ helping my grandma out. It's kind of like a strange mix between being on break and house arrest. I really can't leave the place for more then a couple of hours since I have to make sure everything is ok. I have plenty of school work to do and will be helping H work on a project.

February we don't have much planned. We will be visiting family and friends back home one weekend. Have tickets to Alamo Draft House, so seeing a movie. Maybe we will fly someplace. I have been dying to travel someplace new.

  • Cold & rainy here. Yuck.

H and I are heading to NYC for the week on Sunday. H is working and I'm just doing my thing -- shopping, eating, walking around, visiting people. We used to live there & he still works for the same company, but now he works from home -- they fly him to New York every 4 weeks. Sometimes I am able to go with him. Lucky me!

My BFF for nearly 30 years is adopting a baby that is due on Feb 9th. We are really excited about that! H and I are taking her and her husband out to a celebratory dinner tomorrow night. The road to getting this baby has been long & stressful/painful. It has included countless infertility treatments, testing, IVF procedures....then they moved on to the entire adoption process, which has included some other heartaches along the way. But now, they FINALLY have a baby coming!

We also have two weddings coming up, one in February and one in March. Oh yeah, plus a surprise wedding reception party that I helped plan for some friends who had a destination wedding in December. Not a lot of people could go to Mexico 2 weeks before Christmas, so those of us who couldn't go wanted to do something nice for the couple. Lots of fun stuff coming up!
  • Let's see - weather is icky.  I guess we're supposed to get some snow this weekend.  Don't know how much, but I bet it's just flurries - but I"m ready for some warm weather!!

This weekend - I got to go wedding dress shopping with a friend that was one of my bridesmaids. I'm her MOH in her September wedding.  She ordered her dress, and I ordered my bridesmaid dress.

February - On superbowl Sunday, DH and I will be departing on a Cruise with his entire family!  I cannot wait - only got 5 more work days!!!  We'll be going to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya.  I'm pretty excited!!!

We also will be "celebrating" our 3 year anniversary of being together on Valentine's day, except I doubt we go anywhere since we would have just gotten back from the cruise 2 days before.

Hope all is well with everyone!

  • The weather is unusually warm and I love it. It was in the 50s today.
I am working all weekend sooooo nothing too exciting here.

I think my MOH is hosting her annual Super Bowl party and whole weekend of hanging out with everyone in our wedding party (we're one big group of friends). She and BM (they are a couple) absolutely suck at making plans and keeping them though so we probably won't know any details until last minute.... it's a pain. They can't plan anything in advance and make it easy for everyone else *grumble grumble*

I am currently drinking lots of rum and playing video games with H.

  • Well, we woke up to a dusting of snow this morning.  But, compared to last year, the weather has been super mild so I probably shouldn't complain.  I think it was this time last year we were taking a sledge hammer to the 3+" of ice on our driveway.  Horrible.

For February, I'm going to paint, decorate, and move furniture around in our bedroom.  It's been the only room of the house that we really haven't touched since moving in.   H built a new headboard, which I have to finish painting.  So I've got a major weekend project ahead of me!

We live in Indy, so I'm hoping we can make a trip downtown either tomorrow or one night this week to take a look at everything.  For the superbowl I think we are going to  have a couple people over.  Now I have to start thinking about what food to have!

H has to work today, so my mom is coming to visit and we are going to go shopping!  :)
  • kmgrecco - where part of Indy do you live in?  I'm on the south side of indianapolis about 15 minutes from downtown!

  • The weather here today is lovely! 61 and sunny in January? No complains :)

H and I cleaned the entire house today - it was much needed. We hust had brunch and are just relaxing and watching Dexter on demand. We might go over to my parents later on.

The last few weekends have been dedicated to house hunting and going to open houses, but we just lost our bid on the house we REALLY wanted and are very disappointed. We fired our broker and realtor - just didnt feel like they had our best interests at heart, so we're starting the entire process all over with someone else. The entire process has been very draining. So we're taking a weekend off from anything house or mortage related.

I'll be out of town for work on Valentine's day, so we'll celebrate either the weekend b4 or after. We also decided that I woulg get off the pill after my current pack ends (in 2 weeks!) So hopefully we'll have some baby news soon Smile

Hope everyone else has been doing good!

  • The weather is pretty alright, but supposed to get cold tonight. This weekend, I shall work, like every other weekend. Our youngest nieces Bday party is happening right now, but, I'm at work. February...H starts his wine course on Mondays. My parents are coming to visit mid-month. We both work for V-day, but have a concert to go to in Austin the following week, so we'll have a quick little getaway, will likely stop at a winery on the way home. That's about it I guess.
  • Athlete... Us to! Greenwood actually. Really close to the mall.
  • Sounds like everyone is keeping busy! I would love to go shopping or go to my city. A little bit jelous. :)

  • Kmgrecco - we're real close to each other!  We live seconds from Perry Meridean High School!

  • Ha, that's crazy. Ceremony was at saints Francis and Clare, 37 & olive branch. Reception was at southern dunes golf course at 37 and I forget the cross street. Haha. What about you?
  • Weather is nice and sunny.....but since its been warm/cold/warm/cold all week, Vhati's back is bothering him.

He's got a 3 day weekend this weekend (requested), so we're enjoying that.

Honestly?  We don't look forward to Valentine's Day; I'm pretty anti-Valentine's Day actually.

We're headed to Eugene on Feb 26th for a WWE house show.....the first one they've ever done in Eugene; we're pretty excited about it.

Other than that, we're just enjoying some quiet time between the holidays and the birthday guantlet (March - June)

  • I looked at Southern Dunes.  Our wedding and reception was at my church in Plainfield that I grew up in.  That's crazy that we live so close to each other!

  • Not too much going on around here besides work.  We recently institued a "family game/family movie night" and that's been working pretty well.  My family SEES each other all the time when we're together but I'm not sure we're always SPENDING time together so we've been fixing that.  Our son loves it and it gives me something to look forward to on certain days.

Other than that, not too much.  I was stressing for awhile because I was five days late on getting my monthly friend.  Part of me sort of wants another baby (our son is already eight though!) and DH wants one very much.  Either way though we're still living at my parents' house and not nearly financially ready.  We're saving up for a down payment on a house and I told DH that before we even talk/consider it, we need to set certain priorities.

I'm glad to be able to report that I don't need to stress anymore though. =)

  • It had been warm all weekend (50's and 40's) with no snow on the ground!
Compared to last winter it is amazing! We had already had almost 3' of snow at this time last year.
H and I finally finished the move into our new house!!
So excited to own instead of rent now!!

It's been an exciting weekend...and the fun is just starting Wink

  • We are going to visit friends in California in a few weeks - so excited!!! I've never been there. They live in LA so we're staying with them for two days then we're all driving out to Vegas for another two days. We're flying home straight from there. I've never been to Vegas either so I'm looking forward to a nice mini vacation.

  • My weekend was relatively quiet.  I'm a Mary Kay consultant and went to a conference on Saturday where the VP of Sales Developement spoke, so that was kind of cool.  I'm also in a show at my community theatre, so we had performances all weekend (two of which were sold out...woohoo!).  Last night H and I went out to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, only to find that the tapas bar we went to on our first date is closed for renovation!  Thankfully the owners have a restaurant next door that serves basically the same food, so we went there.

In February I'm looking forward to:
    - my 30th birthday
    - running the Princess Half Marathon in Disney World
    - having time to think and do fun stuff on weekends again now that my show is ending.

  • We have been keeping pretty quiet- I feel like we have been hibernating at home a lot. The winter so far has been fabulous weather-wise. My two BFFs came last weekend and we had a great girls weekend at my house.

Next weekend I am insisting that we go out for a nice meal to celebrate our four year dating anniversary. We have hardly been out to eat at all because H is saving for a new car.

I have been doing a lot of painting/decorating at our house. Has anyone else painted their trim before? It is a lot of work, but looks great once it is done- very worth it.
