Highlight of the Weekend?

Let's revisit to take away some of the mundane of Monday! :)

I went on my all ladies camping trip in Big Basin, CA (clicky). I tried to send some pictures to myself this morning so that I could show you ladies, but my e-mail is being silly. Maybe later.

Super fun on Friday and Saturday- but then it started to rain...no...pour! And we were all sleeping in tents. So my highlight? It's a toss up between sleeping in my warm bed last night- or when Andrew said "It's nice to have you back." Saturday was the first day that we haven't spoken to eachother in our entire relationship.

So- What was the highlight of your weekend? And congrats to those who got ENGAGED! Congrats!!

    Friday we went to a friend's house for dinner, drinks, and a bonfire.  We haven't had a night like that with these friends in a while so it was nice to get together.

    Saturday night we had a few friends over for a fondue party.  We made some recipes similar to what you would get at the Melting Pot (IDK if they're just around here or not). 
      - App - cheese dip with bread and veggies
      - Main - red wine based broth for beef, potatoes, and veggies
      - Main - beer based broth for chicken, potatoes, and veggies
      - Dessert - chocolate fondue with fruit for dipping
    Everything was delish :)

    Sunday we went to BF's nephew's birthday party.  This was the not-so-highlight of my weekend because there were IMO too many crazy snotty kids running around and BF's youngest nephew's daiper leaked out while he was sitting on my lap and I had pee all over my pants before I even realized it. (barf!)  Luckily I live within walking distance so I was able to walk home and get changed.

    Highlight of my weekend: Becoming a pet parent. My kitties are just too darn cute. I'm bummed that I won't get home until 9:30 tonight to see them. Other good thing was getting to see BF's brother and SIL. That was good too.

    Yup.  This is a google image.  I think it is the loveseat.  I actually bought the full-size sofa.  It was at Big Lots.  $229. SCORE.

    We're storing it at my Dad's house, but brought one of the pillows with us to try to find something to match.

    Vegas. Oh wait, that's not enough of an update?

    Went to the Stratosphere Friday night, first in the downstairs bar, then 107 stories up. It was a good time. Then we headed downstairs to gamble. I spent my 'allowance' but we were there for several hours, so I didn't mind. 

    Saturday I slept less than 3 hours, but laid in bed until noon, enjoying room service. I then found out one of my childhood friends was also in Vegas, so we met up for a late lunch. It was great to see her and her husband, and it also happened to be her birthday!

    That night we got ready for my friends wedding. I felt awful, nauseas, and kept getting the cold sweats. But after a glass of champagne, a glass of wine, a beer and some vodka/cranberry, I felt like a million bucks :) The wedding was beautiful and quick. We then had bottle service at Voodoo, in the Rio.

    After that, I did some more gambling. I was doing pretty well, but one bad run on the craps table and my allowance for the night was gone. Another 3 hours of sleep and it was time to pack up. We went downtown to eat and gamble some more. I won some of my money back and then we hit the road.

    Great weekend but my liver is begging me not to do that again anytime soon.

    We went to The Melting Pot.... I was in fondue heaven! I had been begging FI to take me there for years and he suprised me this weekend with a date night!

    No. We didn't. We just had the cheddar cheese fondue and the smores chocolate fondue. I knew if I ordered an appetizer I would be too full for dessert, so we just went with appetizer and dessert!

    I didn't really have a weekend highlight.

    Friday night was mellow, I did a shiit ton of laundry and cleaned my room along the way. I took out my summer clothes and realized that I barely have any, so I will need to go shopping soon.

    Saturday I didn't know what I was doing because I was waiting to see if BF was going to his softball game or not. He ended up going so I sat around til 11:30, just waiting to hear the decision. I was wicked peeved and we fought a little bit. I then went to get a pedicure with my mom, which was nice. I ended up going to BF's later at night and we went out to watch the Bruins. Then we went back to his house and had some great sex, so it was all good.

    Sunday was his cousin's first communion. We went to the church then back to their house. It was the house that we were close to buying off them, but we found out that their offer didn't go through on the house they wanted, so we have to wait longer to see what is going to happen. Then I went to a house party that had a psychic, who I had heard was the best, but he was just okay IMO.

    Friday I worked, and was out like a light by 9:30. (I'm such an old hag)

    Saturday I went shooting with BF's niece because she got a bow for her birthday and I've been into archery my whole life. It was so fun because it reminded me of when I was her age and was just getting into archery!

    Sunday I worked. Work was easy and slow, which is a nice chance for once. After I got home, BF grilled 4lbs of steaks in portion size pieces for easy paleo dinner/breakfasts this week! The steaks were marinated in red wine and sprinkled with chicago steak seasoning. Highlight: the steak for dinner when I got home from work, nom!

     Highlight - panic attack in the car in front of my madre. She took everything really well, and is going to support whatever decision I make (see post much further down "Second thoughts").  It was a good talk, and I needed her support.  So, now to actually making a decision. :)

    Peek- I saw that you got lots of good advice this weekend. I gave lots of LOLcats since I didn't have anything to add. Hehe...

    I have confidence that you will make the right decision for you- and all these lovely ladies will be here to support you through that decision! Are you feeling better today?

    I'm starting to.  I'm about to email Mr. Professor-Who-Didn't-Want-Me-This-Year and call Mr. Professor-Who-is-Supposed-to-Be-My-Advisor-And-Failing-Miserably and try to figure life out.  :)

    ETA: Lunar, your Lolcats made me smile.  I send lots of love and hugs in return.  :)
