Only if it were casual dating/sex and definitely not a real relationship.

My niece dates an athlete and he's very good to her.  My neighbor dates a retired athlete and same story.  They're actually getting married and are very happy.  I don't see the difference really, if you love someone you love them.  It's kind of like asking if you'd fall in love with a garbage man.  They're also people too :)

Does the garbage man have hot, done up chicks THROWING themselves at them?

I chose yes.  I think everyone has opportunity to cheat.  If they were constantly being followed by the paparazzi I might rethink that answer though.

I said nah, I wouldn't want to be followed by paparazzi all the time, it would get on my nerves.

Honestly, my husband goes on business a lot and I've met some of the woman he comes in contact with.  He's been on business in Vegas, New Orleans...

There was one instance that a male coworker of DH joked around about in front of me about a female coworker who "threw herself" at DH after a night of drinking in Vegas.  Without details, lets just say she embarrassed herself.  I feel like it could really happen in any profession.  Note:  DH is a consultant, not very glamorous.

I voted yes. There's no reason not to. If FI was a celeb, that wouldn't have changed anything.

To be honest, I would never get to the point of dating/loving a celebrity because I wouldn't even entertain the thought.

I have never thought about this before either as I've never met an athlete as an adult in a non marketing setting.  I just think that if I had been in a situation where I met one and we hit it off, I'd be willing to give it a try (10 years ago).

I do like having a "normal" life though and obviously, celebrities do not have that.  I don't know if I could honestly keep up with them.  It took me 2 days to recover from staying out til 1am  on Saturday night.  On the other side, I went to hs with a now pro football player and he was a jerk even back then just cause he was captain of a high school team.  I don't know if my personality would get along with a pro athlete's.  I'm not trying to imply that I think they're all the same.
I just think that if you love someone, you just do.  That's where I'm coming from.

MH, i think your hat found it's way to me.  I'm not feeling the puppies and rainbows today.

I'm sticking with my original answer - only for sex, no relationships!

Paparazzi everywhere, chicks throwing themselves at him 24/7, constant scrutiny - I'll pass.

Stacy's right - they ARE people too. Just not my kind of people living my kind of life.

My cousin dated an Eagle once.  It didn't end well.  So... nope.  Not dating athletes.

Famous as actor no. I get it's jsut "acting" but I'd still not be cool with some guy I'm serious with naked/making out/sex scenes with other women. Also, being that close on set for a certain amount of time, nope. I also don't think athlete because the'd always be traveling and never home, I'd get too lonely. Retired sports dude sure why not.

I said maybe. It depends on how the relationship was. If I was REALLY in love then yes I would give it a shot. But I wouldn't be able to stand being in the public eye all the time. I think it would eventually take a toll on me and I would end the relationship.
