Nevada-Las Vegas

is anyone else planning to wear a non white dress??

since it's my second marriage and i'm not the white wedding dress type, i'm thinking of going for a brightly coloured dress.

this is what i'm currently in love with:

is anyone else doing something colourful?

I am wearing white but that dress is gorgeous! I saw go for it, I know I've seen other brides do it too.

Omg the dress is gorgeous!  Go for it! It's your wedding, wear what you want!

Personally I am hoping to get in a light grey dress or maybe even red.  I am not traditional by any means so "white" isn't that important to me.
    And your dress is gorgeous.

thanks ladies!  you guys are so sweet... i really tried to imagine myself in a white dress and it doesn't work.

other brides look so beautiful but it's just not me.

Rach - it was your dress (and the blue crinoline) that made me realize that i wanted something with colour.

the bonus is that the dress i chose is ridiculously cheap.  my shoes are gonna end up costing way more than my dress!

I went with an ivory dress because white is not my color. I did try on a light blue dress while dress shopping but the dress was not my style.
I am all for not wearing white if you are up for it! I think Vegas is the perfect place to not be traditional too!

<div>heehee... i think a colourful dress might indeed cause your gram to lose her cool.  but i also think you should do what you want... quite the predicament.</div><div>
</div><div>i'm marrying a black man; my sister's husband is middle eastern and they adopted a baby from africa.  oh and my gram's youngest daughter is a lesbian.  the colour of my wedding dress is the least of her concerns!  ;)</div><div>
</div><div>i'm thinking of getting the dress in fuschia but i also like the teal and brown.</div>

My MOH wore a dress made by Mori Lee. I thought it was the cutest thing ever! She wore black. I say where what you want. I was scoping out bios today, and someone has a slate grey dress that is short & absolutely beautiful. I can't remember who!

I am very traditional and am planning to wear white, but I see no problem with a bride wearing what she wants to...it's her day, afterall.

My grandma grew up in the Depression and always wanted a black velvet dress. So when she got married, she gave her mother a heart attack and wore a black velvet dress as her wedding dress.  The funny thing is, when her daughter (my mom) got married in 1972, she threw a fit because my mom wanted to have 2 lavender ribbons stitched into each sleeve of her white dress...my mom got her way.

Woohoo!! So happy to hear that! And...shoes are really important, so it's totally justifiable if they cost a small fortune! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

my dress was champagne with a darker champagne ribbon. still close to white, but i didn't like white and with a 15 year old daughter, seemed kind of silly.
if i'd have found a color dress that i liked, i would have went to it. i say go for it. and mori lee dresses are beautiful. i looked at mori lee, and there was a dress that i coveted, but we couldn't really seem to find it.

Oh wow, that dress is gorgeous in SO many of the colors!  If it works for you... go for it!

My dress is white. Well... ivory.  I decided to go the traditional route, although my dress is sort of "casual" - no beading or lace... and it has pockets too. :)

My dress is a pearl color and it looks interesting next to the white elements in the dress.  I think the color sometimes really makes the dress stand out and be unique.  I agree with everyone that the dress is gorgeous and you should go for it!

Mine was pale silver/grey. White did not suit me!

    Go for a coloured one!
