How long does it take to receive NYC marriage certificate?

Hello!  Can someone please tell me how long it took to get their marriage certificate back?  I want to get started on all of the paperwork for the name chance.  Thank you!

    I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure ours was waiting for us when we got back from our honeymoon (2 weeks later).  And that was including international postage (we live in London).  Depends in part on how fast your officiant sends in the signed license after the ceremony.

    I got married on April 9 of this year and am still waiting for my certificate to arrive!  I am beginning to assume it is lost and I will be going down to the records department in person soon.

    Thanks!  I got tired of waiting and went to the marriage bureau to pick one up.  They said that it usually takes 2 weeks for them to mail it out.
