I didn't read every reply on this post  so I'm sorry if this has already been touched apon but has anyone tried  or heard of paragard? That's what I am looking into. It's an IUD like merena but it is made of copper and does not use any hormones. You just have your doctor insert it (which I hear is a bit uncomfortable) and then it lasts for up to 10 years. It can be taken out at any time by your doctor.

    I went to Paragard's website (<em><a href="http://www.paragard.com/custom/q-and-a" rel="nofollow">http://www.paragard.com/custom/q-and-a</a></em>) and found this:
    How does ParaGard® work?
Ideas about how ParaGard® works include preventing sperm from reaching the egg <strong>and preventing the egg from attaching (implanting) in the uterus</strong>. ParaGard® does not alter your body's natural menstrual cycle.

I don't want to speak for everyone, but the part in bold is what many of us take issue with, since many of us believe that life begins at conception.  Many of us feel that if one of the IUD's main mechanisms is to prevent a fertilized egg (baby) from implanting in the uterus after conception, thus purposefully preventing him/her from growing, that is an abortion (murder).  Again, not trying to speak for everyone, but that's the general feel from the thread.
