Do invites have to match wedding colors?

I have already bought invites for my wedding but then we decided to change our colors. The invites match the old colors and are no where near the new colors. Do the have to match or is it ok if they don't?

    Like PP said, plain white or ecru is traditional.  Mine are going to be soft white with grey type and that's it.  My wedding colors are tomato red and light yellow.

    Definitely don't have to match. I wouldn't stress over it :)

    I agree, esp. if you've already bought them - don't waste money on new invites just because the color doesn't match.

    I agree with everyone. I've never brought the invitation to a wedding to make sure the colors matched. I doubt anyone but you and your FI will notice, and if people do, they won't care.

    Don't stress, it will look fine! :)
