Recessional?

Hi Ladies!

I know I have some time but I've been looking into music for our ceremony. I think I have everything covered except for Recessional. I was looking through previous posts and saw that someone was using "Ever Ever After" by Carrie Underwood and fell in love with the idea! I let FI listen to it and he laughed and thought I was nuts for wanting to use a Disney themed song LOL! Any ideas on what songs to use? I don't want to be too traditional. For Prelude I was considering using instrumental versions of some popular songs by Alicia Keys and Goo Goo Dolls.  I attached what I have so far.

Prelude- No One-Alicia Keys-Piano, Goo Goo Dolls-Iris-Piano, Life House-You and Me-Instrumental. Also considering this mix from the movie Enchanted http://youtu.be/LgQixVsvSrQ

Mothers/BMs processional: Butterfly Waltz, by Brian Crain

Me and dad: Canon in D-harpist

Unity Candle music: Sound of an Angel-violin-http://youtu.be/NguIpRFLM4M

Recessional: ?

Re: Recessional?

  • I think if it's just instrumental, that would be awesome! We are doing a Beatles song, a song from Willy Wonka, and a Taylor Swift song, just because we like all of those songs, and we know they will be recognizable. Also, we're not particularly trying to stay with one 'theme'.
  • Sure, why not?  But your FI definitely needs to be on board.

We used Happy Together by The Turtles.  We printed the lyrics in the program and invited our guests to sing along with us as we left.  It was a lot of fun.
  • We used Hoppippola by Sigur Ros. It's sung in a made-up language but it's the happiest feeling song out there and it worked great.

  • Our recessional song was Take Me Out To The Ball Game.  Our guests all sang, it was really fun.

The lyrics are actually Icelandic.  I love Sigur Ros - they put on an awesome live show.
