Ok, so I just realized I'm supposed to have my undergarments for my dress fitting on Saturday.

What in the world are you guys wearing under your dresses? Mine's a silk taffeta dress, which I believe is relatively heavy (although not THAT heavy). I suppose I'll just wear a strapless bra? And I usually wear thongs every single day so I'm worried that that's probably not a good choice if I'll be sweating on the wedding day . . . right?

So, what are you wearing? PIPs or links are very helpful as I'll have to go buy something probably tomorrow or Friday!

I'm wearing a V-string, but I won't be wearing that to my fitting. I'll probably just wear what I wore when I tried dresses on which was a spandexy boyshort. I don't think I'm going to wear a bra, but won't really know for sure until my dress comes in. I'm hoping to go without, but may have cups sewn in. I didn't wear one when I tried dresses on, but I don't really have anything to hold up anyway (32AA).

I will probably wear bikini cut underwear and I haven't decided yet on my bra. I didn't wear a bra when I tried on dresses because I wanted a dress with a corset back and since it can be tightened enough to hold me in I don't really think I need a bra. I'm going to try my dress without a bra when it comes in and see how I feel if I have to order one it will just be a regular strapless bra. I'm hoping I don't need one because I think it will be cooler my dress is pretty heavy and it will be HOT here in July.

Are you worried about being sweaty under your dress? I know that's kind of . . . gross . . . but I'm concerned I'm going to be really uncomfortable if I don't wear something "bigger." You know?

I think I'll wear a strapless bra to the fitting, but I want cups sewn in for the wedding. I only wear a 34b. And I'm probably going to wear some kind of cheeky boyshorts on the bottom.

Also, what about slips or what not? I tried on my dress with a fit and flare crinoline but is it normal to buy those or not? I don't want more layers if I don't need them.

I'm probably just going to wear a regular pair of underwear for my fitting. My dress is corset and fits almost perfectly, but I'm going to see about going without a bra and having cups put in. I don't want another layer of material. My dress is already hot enough. And before the wedding I'm probably going to order a pair of sweat wicking shorts to wear under my dress. Trying for anything that might help relieve the sweatiness.

Oh, the sweatiness... I wish I could have the seamstress install a fan under there. I am wearing strapless bra and Victorias Secret cotton underwear too. My dress is too big on top so even though I was planning on getting cups sewn into the dress, she said it was a better, cheaper idea to sew them into the bra instead. We tried it out and it fits much better.

I'm not wearing a bra. My dress is a corset top so I'll just pull it tight enough to hold me. Then on bottom, haven't decided on underwear yet, but I will be wearing spanx, the kind that go down your thighs. I need that because I have giant thighs and they rub together and hurt a lot (think bleeding) if I don't wear some kind of slip with my dresses.

At the store where I purchased my bridal gown, they had really nice corset strapless bras from a nearby store to use when trying on dresses. When I made my dress fitting appointment, my consultant said I could go into the lingerie store and borrow about 3 different kinds of bras to bring to the fitting and see which one I like best with the dress. I always have a lot of trouble with strapless bras, so I'm looking forward to having one that actually lifts a bit! (I wear a 38C, so I always feel like I need more support) As far as underwear, I'm thinking of wearing blue underwear, maybe ones that say something about the bride on it. I know I am definitely wearing cotton bikini style undies. And I want to get a nice bra that is strapless. I'm having cups sewn in so I don't have to wear a bra, not like I have much to hold up anyway. And I'll probably wear a thong on the wedding day, because I wear them pretty much every single day too. I've never had a sweating issue though, so I'm not sure what you're talking about there?? haha I just won't want to have my underwear moving around while I'm dancing and getting a wedgie and not being able to fix it! Thongs are most comfortable for me.

bridetobe, mine is silk taffeta too! Mine already had a built-in bra at my first fitting and the crinoline is built in as well, so all I need is panties.

as far as undies...I haven't decided yet. I had imagined a v-string, but that is a good point about getting "sweaty". it's the worst thing ever to have on a v-string and start feeling like you are sweating....gross, but true!

I really have no idea yet.....maybe some pretty "cheeky" panties?? those are my fiance's favorite anyway, and they would help with the sweating situation...

This is probably TMI, but I hate underwear. I only ever wear it if I'm wearing a dress, otherwise, I go commando. The only kind that I can stand is the V-strings that they actually just started making again and they're still hard to find in the stores. I hate having a wedgie and most thongs make me feel like I have a permanent one except these. I can't feel it at all. I sweat like a freight train, but if I wear more, I'll be squirming all night long trying to get comfortable.

There is a slight possibility that my wedding day will end up on my pregnant bloated day. My cycles haven't been super regular for the past couple of years and the cluster of cysts on my ovary last year didn't help with that so there wasn't really anyway to plan totally around it. Some months, I really do look 5 months pregnant on that day. It's really insane and it hurts because of all the pressure. I'm hoping it doesn't hit that day, but if it does, I have spanx as a backup to squeeze me into my dress.

I am also going to have cups sewn into my dress so no bra.. as for undies I really havnt thought about it until just now.. and bridetobe I am with you and now worried about the sweaty problem!

I am thinking I will go for a nice pair of cotton bikini undies.

I envy those who can go bra-less.

For me: a strapless bra, breathable cotton bikinis, and probably some Spanx.

Oh the sweating that is going to happen........ it was 91 degrees here on Monday and if my wedding day is that hot or hotter.... I'm DOOMED. FI kind of regrets getting a full tuxedo now hahaha

I am not wearing a bra with my dress because I can't because I'm too busty for the dress and need special alterations just to accomidate for that. Underneath I'm wearing a waist cincher (CLICK) and a lacey from VS in white (CLICK). I find those to be very comfy and airy.

I may check out some of the cheeky ones - I don't want to wear spanx that day because it'll be another layer and my dress is pretty full anyway, so I don't think I'll need them for my problem leg area.

I may see if they can sew cups into the dress. That's a good idea. Does it work for people who are bigger on top? I know this isn't "big" but I'm a 32C or 32D, depending on the time of month.

I love the Lacies too! I was so glad when I found them and didn't have to pay for Hanky Pankys anymore. I have probably 40 pair of those in every color under the rainbow! :)

I'm wearing comfy panties!! I got a white cotton hipster/brief from the VS outlet that say 'BRIDE' on it a few years ago. They were $2.99!!! Can't pass that awesome deal even if I wouldn't wear them unknowingly until last year!!

I'm also wearing SPANX because it is going to be hot under that dress & I'm going to want to be comfy all night & I HATE when my legs rub together when they're hot...

Haven't decided what underwear to wear, but I know I'm not going to wear anything fancy. I don't want my cheeks to sweat all night long!

I was wearing Minnesota Twins undies when I found my dress. So maybe I'll wear something fun like that! FI's favorite sport is hockey. So maybe a hockey underwear? Sexy, I know.

I'll be wearing comfy panties.. nothing that will require me to have to dig something out when I won't be able to. That's the worst hahaha and why I hate to wear thongs. I also want cups sewn in.

As for slips and stuff I'm wearing two. A hoop skirt and a crinoline underneath. Sounds weird to be wearing those 2 but I like it. I love hoop skirts but I hate the way they look when you walk and it's swinging around. The crinoline takes care of that and keeps the hoop skirt still.. perfect. Plus it'll keep me warm in the afternoon and night cuz that's when it starts getting chilly. We'll see how the morning goes though hahaha it's usually pretty hot then. I might just take the crinoline off then.
