MP -- It sounds like you're on top of things! At seven months out, I think I had a venue. And a photographer. And that was it. What kind of shoes did you choose? That's also on my lengthy to-do list, but I'm having a hell of a time finding anything in teal.

See I've had all of the big things booked since like May-June. But there's so many teeny tiny things to do and decide about. I get very overwhelmed.
In Response to Re: It's kinda quiet all up in here... : Ugh. That's all so frustrating! And when it's all FINALLY over and done with, you can look forward to a green card application. Oh, and a wedding. :)
Posted by Celles
That's the big thing ^.^

Urgh yeah, the green card. I HAVE to work too, so I have to pay for the fee to apply for a waiver to do that, which is like another 300 dollars. Then the grandish for the green card. And then I'll have to reapply for it, for the ten year one, but I'm not sure how much that costs. Even though I'll be able to apply for citizenship a year after the first one expires. I freaking hate this. I should've made him move to Canada.
• so, why was oot talking about chad yesterday? was there a story, or was it a survey?
• Hi. It's crappy here too. Not as bad as Fargo but ya know - worse than it was in my old town.
In Response to Re: It's kinda quiet all up in here... : You can see them? GOOD!! I really like them. It took forever to find a good pair. I'm used to wearing 3-4" heels (FI is 6'-3" and I'm 5'-5"), but I didn't think that I could wear that high of a heel for that long. Plus, as my mom says, "TOE CLEAVEAGE!"
Posted by MattsPenguin
Ha! Yeah I didn't want a very high heel either, but I didn't want to wear flat shoes. Those are really, very nice. Your mom sounds funny :)

And the tree out my window that you can see there? Is bent at the trunk from yesterday. It's crazy.

I got the feeling it was just a survey, kind of like to figure out how many old-timers are still around. Why Chad in particular, I have no idea.
• Lala, it was just a poll. No story. I kept waiting for a story, but came up short.

• Good lord that's awful weather. We Californians think we have it bad when it drizzles. Then everyone drives like an idiot and we have a ton of accidents. It's like everyone takes a stupid pill before driving when it rains here. I can't imagine how much worse it would be if it actually snowed.
MP -- love the shoes! Still need to find mine but I've got plenty o time. Yeah, I normally wear 4" heels but thinking that heels + ceremony on a tee box = bad idea. Boo. I've been entertaining myself on the DIY board today. Weird.
Posted by jcbsjr
Thanks!

We're taking pictures on the football field before the reception, but we're not allowed to wear heels. So I made all of my girls sparkly flip flops and now I have to find a pair of wedge ones for myself. But after that, it's back to the nice shoes.

This. I just laugh when we get rain for more then 3 days in a row and the news headlines read "Storm Watch 2010"
• We have a tornado watch until 8pm tonight. Maybe it could pick me up and toss me into the Bahamas or something. Maybe Bermuda...it's not too far south.

I just thought it was odd and random, especially since she didn't regale us with tales of "his" rise and outing and fall and subsequent entry into the TK Mod Witness Protection Program.
• Dodgers, YES. Driving in the rain doesn't bother me and I grew up driving cars that hydroplaned if someone spit on the road. But I swear at least half the population here thinks that you can drive exactly the same in the rain as when it is dry and that's where the trouble starts. Plus, 1" of rain =/= Storm of the Century.

I bet the rest of the country laughs at us.

TR, I don't even usually watch baseball but I'm totally into it this year because of the Giants. I may have a teeny crush on Wilson, stupid beard and all. He's a big guy and I like that. :P
In Response to Re: It's kinda quiet all up in here... : I love a good shoe challenge!! Me & Zappos have a close, personal relationship! What color were you thinkin?
Posted by jcbsjr
Probably white or ivory. But if you can find 'em in blue or pink, go for it! It needs to be 2.5" heel.
• Hi Stackeye! If it helps, we're having pasta with meatballs tonight.

Are you guys all set for Halloween costumes? I hope you post pictures.
• I made chicken and pesto pizza last night and spaghetti the night before so I'm not sure I can do Italian tasting food again tonight. I keep thinking about stir fry but it just seems like a lot of work today.

And yep! We're definitely ready for Halloween. Jocelyn is going to be Minnie Mouse. When is your Trick-or-treat? Ours is tomorrow. She also has her school party so she'll wear her costume to school tomorrow too, which she's really excited about.
• I wish they'd do it like that here, but now everyone seems to be moving to the Thursday night before Halloween so that it's "safer" for the kids. Forget about the safety of the parents during 5pm rush hour as the freeways are jam packed with people trying to get home before the 5:30 start time. Traffic always sucks soooooo bad on trick-or-treat night. Almost comparable to day before Thanksgiving traffic.
• Same here, OWN. I find it weird that towns now designate a trick-or-treat night that is different from Halloween night. That sort of ruins the holiday for me. :(

• The town I went to college in had banned trick or treating so I guess the kids would all come to the college and we would decorate our dorm hallways and hand out candy. Lots of fun. No kids will come trick or treating at our house :(
image
• When I grew up, we'd always trick or treat on the last Sunday in October, during the daytime. Lame.

Stackeye, that's crazy. How is that safer? Ridiculous.
• We won't get any trick or treaters this year, we're too far out in the boonies. I think they do a little costume parade with the kids on one main road, but I'm not going all the way out there just to hand out candy.

• I'm just hoping it's warm enough to sit on the porch. I love handing out candy.

Stacks - I didn't realize it until I got a "real job" that parents leave early on Halloween to help with their kids. It's kind of a fun night! I just try to be on the look out for tiny children while driving home.
