Cupcake Wedding Cake Question???

So my FI and I want to have cupcakes for our wedding cake instead of a traditional wedding cake. I just have a question on the etiquette on how it will be served? We will have a small cake for us to cut, so we can get the tradtional cake cutting pictures, but then do you just have everyone come get one at the cake stand? Because we want a couple different flavors, not all the cupcakes to be the same flavor. I just don't know how we would serve the cupcakes. . . . ???

    We are doing cupcakes for our wedding.

    We have a small cake for the cutting ceremony, and then the guests get their cupcakes from the cake stand just as they would come up to get a piece of cake (if it wasn't served.)

    We chose cupcakes so we didn't have to pay the $1.00-$1.50 pp "cake cutting and serving" fee from the caterer.  Instead, we had custom napkins printed for us (through theknot shop) and will offer those along with the cupcakes for our guests.

    I would put each flavor on each tier of the cupcake stand or display.  Perhaps you could enlist the assistance of a relative or friend to tell people what flavors are what?

    I think we're just going to let people come get theirs after we cut the top cake. We're having some unusual flavors, so we're definitely making signs and putting them on different tiers.

    Let everyone pick their own but maybe separate the flavors onto different stands or at least different tiers and tag them somehow with signs so people know what is what.
