Hello fellow Chicagoan-ish brides! I just posted a similar post on the monthly board but figured I should do an official intro on this board as well. I've been a lurker for several months now and have been posting randomly, but it's been a while since I've logged on here. It doesn't help that I discovered Pinterest and all my surf time has been devoted to pinning. Hahah.
FI and I got engaged back in April and we set our wedding date for 9/29/12. We finally reached our 1 year mark as of 2 weeks ago and are super stoked! So now that our wedding day is officially under a year, I feel better posting more and not feeling like I'm jumping the gun with anything.
We're basically all done with booking the big vendors (church, reception, videographer, photographer, DJ, and photobooth). My mom is doing all the flowers (love her!!). And I got my dress back in June (for $50!!). So I've been quite the busy bee. I'm currently in the process of booking a DOC, as well as researching ceremony music. We're thinking we want a string quartet for the ceremony.

We also took our engagement pictures earlier this week, so that really made it feel like the wedding is really happening. Hahah, kinda silly, but it's the first official wedding related activity we did, aside from booking vendors and giving them our hard earned money. LOL. And even though it rained the whole day during our engagement shoot, we made the most out of the situation and had a blast. Will definitely share with everyone when I get those back.
