Not Engaged Yet

***mhollister and flygirlmeg***

I thought you two should meet.
Mhollister = obsessed with golden puppies, like the ones in Bridesmaids
flygirlmeg = owns one of the puppies from Bridesmaids

I would have put this in the roll call thread but usually by the time I get to a thread it's dying out.

Re: ***mhollister and flygirlmeg***

  • I was going to post that in the roll call thread too!  Great minds, Tiger.
  • I thought Hogan was from Marley & Me?
  • Yea, I thought Hogan was a yellow lab, not a golden retriever?

    This too.

Not that they're not equally adorable or anything. Drew and I are just avid fact-checkers.
  • Hogan is a yellow lab, I believe, but that is the type of dog that was in Bridesmaids, and I'm pretty sure that is the movie Hogan was in.

Oh my goodness! How did she get to owning one of the puppies from Bridesmaids?!? I thought they looked like Goldens but then again labs and goldens do look pretty similar when they're puppies. My two goldens look different now that they're grown but when they were puppies, it was hard to tell them apart. Here is a picture of them now:

They live with my parents since they actually have some room for them to run around.

I think they used both labs and goldens for Bridesdmaids, actually.  I remember thinking that when I watched the movie the first time.
  • Yep, it's Bridesmaids.  Damn, I remembered it wrong.

My goal for today was to be sucky at work and be awesome at TK instead.

I guess instead I'm just sucking at both.
  • Ha, yes... they were yellow labs and it was Bridesmaids. But since mhollister specifically mentioned those puppies, I figured it was worth bringing up, even though they weren't goldens. Flygirlmeg has been working hard today, but I"ll let her know she needs to get her butt in here!

  • HIIIIII!!!!  I'm here!!  (Thanks, Tiger for a) calling me out! b) introducing us and c) texting me to let me know I was being paged!).  ANYWAY, mhollister, yes, Hogan, the cutest yellow labrador EVER, was indeed in Bridesmaids.  We got him from a breeder (no, we didn't rescue but I feel ok about it because our breeder is super responsible and we love her).  Anyway, she gets calls sometimes for her dogs.  A couple from a litter last year were in a dog food commercial.  With Bridesmaids, we were coming back from Lake Powell in summer of 2009 and were due to bring Hogan home in a week or two; she called us and wanted to know if it was ok for her to take him off the premises, along with some of his littermates, to be in a film called Bridesmaids.  We agreed and then forgot about it.  THEN the movie came out and we remembered.  OBVIOUSLY it was a big hit; inevitable since he's a part of the coolest family ever!

P.S.  This might also be why Hogan is also an "attention retriever" and not just a labrador retriever!

I definitely know what you mean by "attention retriever" haha. My dogs act like they don't receive a day of attention in their lives but in reality they are probably the most important members of our family and we cater to their every need haha. That's way cool though about how Hogan is a "movie star". That's so awesome.
  • Yep - he's totally the star in our house!!  Though, yesterday he was an ORNERY dog and I had to kind of take him down a few notches.  Every once in awhile he needs to be reminded that he's the "child" and not the parent!!  Wink
