US Castles

Due to unfortunate circumstances, the castle we were planning to celebrate our nuptials in is now unavailable when we need it. Therefore, we need to find a new venue.

We are looking for a castle. We are willing to travel, but it must be within the continental US, as we need to drive our car to it. I have done copious amounts of online research, but I was hoping you may be able to help me with first-hand accounts. Anything can look good in a picture.

Is there a castle near you? Is it dark and kind of creepy? We're not looking for Cinderella's castle, as you can imagine. Much thanks in advance.

Oh, that's lovely, JessAndTrav. New Hampshire would be a reasonable drive for us as well. We're not sure how far our old car would make it (especially as it rarely gets driven).

I've been to over 30 weddings at Searles. It's a really nice place. They usually have it outside under a tent though unless you have a very small wedding. Just a heads up.

pumpkin- We really enjoy driving when we get the chance. We have a fun, old restored car that sits in a storage park outside the city most of the year. Also, my fiance is quite afraid to fly.

I find it entertaining on this forum that every time I have stopped in, I get comments that I am not real. Is it simply because I don't fit a certain mold? Or maybe I'm just on the wrong forum? This is the only national one that seems to get much traffic.

www.castlemcculloch.com the guy got his money mining gold in the surrounding woods. Google images will give you better photos then the website.

Pretty small, but will be a much lower price then somewhere like Biltmore.
