Which is better?

So FI and I are at an impass. We're working on RSVP wording now and have different ideas as to how we should word this specific phrase. Which of these sounds better/flows better? It would be at the bottom of the RSVP for people to let us know how many people are coming.

ETA: The invites are pretty casual so we're not looking for formality.

Re: Which is better?

  • The word those just seems awkward to me.

I'd skip reply cards altogether.  There are not a necessity.
  • That wording is just a little confusing in general.

    What's wrong with using this?

    __number of guests attending

<div>FI really wants to put in "reserved seats" again (there will be "we have reserved __ seats in your honor) because apparently there are some family members that would add on more people even if we had "reserved _ seats".</div><div>
</div><div>And, no, I'm not skipping reply cards. I can't call 80 people to see if they are coming. =P</div>

    Agreed.<div>
</div><div>If you already have the line 'X seats have been reserved,' then why do you need to repeat it? Just have then check off accept/decline next to their names. I did:</div><div>
</div><div>__ seats have been held in your honor.</div><div>
    </div><div>________ __ accepts __ declines</div><div>
    </div><div>________ __ accepts __ declines</div><div>
</div><div>I handwrote each invited guest's name in the slot and crossed out any extra lines. No one tried to bring an uninvited guest.</div>
  • I like rlavach's suggestion. I wanted to do this myself, but it's impossible the way I ordered them (Vistaprint) because some RSVP cards would need one line, some would need two, etc.

Yes, my suggestion is that OP skip reply cards.  They are unnecessary.  Assuming the couple is inviting adults, guests should know that "R.S.V.P." in the lower left corner of the invitation indicates a reply is requested.  The guest can then choose how to reply.  The proper way to reply is in writing, but a phone call or email will do.

An invitation is necessary. A reply card is not.  The wedding industrial complex has convinced you and others that it is "terrible" not to buy that extra card and envelope. Adults have replied to wedding invitations for decades without reply cards.  Ask anyone over age 50.
