Limos

Hi ladies,

Just wondering about the cost of limos. We started looking into a few companies recommended by our venue. We asked about getting one limo (something along the lines of a stretch SUV) to take the bridal party from the house we are getting ready at to the venue. One way, no waiting or return trip. We have shuttles set up for transportation from the venue to the hotel afterwards.

We were quoted at about $1000, which seems really high to me for one limo for a few hours. Each place had a 3-6 hour minumum at $150/hr and tacked on a lot of additional fees.

We spoke with the 'wedding coordinators' at each business, which makes me feel like prices were more expensive simply due to being wedding related.

Is the price pretty average and I am just in sticker shock? Any advice or hints would be great! We are in central Jersey...almost north, if that plays into the price at all.

Re: Limos

  • I'm paying 800 a limo... But I also know that prices will be going up soon for 2013 rates... At least that's what I was told.. So I would book soon to save a few

  • I'm looking into a limo for the exact same purpose as you; to get from the house (or hotel) to the venue.  Keep in mind that a stretch SUV is about double the cost of a stretch towncar.

I would recommend checking out Santos Limos, which lists all of their rates on the website and is located in Avenel.

Yup, this is very true. We went for a 14 person stretch towncar for that very reason. We're using Moonlight Limos and paying $570 for a 3 hour package, including tax and gratuity. It was the cheapest I've found and they've been really responsive every time I've emailed (and, I'm one of those people who emails with a million questions before booking - they answered every one within a few hours max). We'll see how they do day of, but I'm feeling very confident.
  • We used Santos. Honestly those prices are not as crazy as you think they are.

  • Thanks ladies! I will look into those- and definitely book before the 2013 rates kick in.

I am not set on the SUV, but since I will be riding from my home to the venue in my dress (mom insists on getting ready and dressed at home) and we will be in the limo for about 35 min, I was thinking that a SUV type would be less cramped for space.
  • OMG the price of these limos are outrageous! I was thinking the same thing when I looked around for car services. I'm scared to go with a "cheap" limo company because my best friend got married last May and used a discount limo service. The limo was total junk: dirty, ripped interior, etc...

    I'm still searching!
