bridesmaid shoes- HELP!!

I am trying to figure out shoes for the BMs.

They are wearing J Crew dresses Ceclia style in bright hydrangea (which is no longer carried) but it's like a blue/purple color almost like a periwinkle but more blue and less grey based

I am trying to find a comfy shoe with a little bit of a heel, a round toe, silver/metallic, with some sort of stripe/fold type detail

I found these and I think they'd be great but I am concerned with the amount of black rubber on the bottom of the soles... do you think this would be too heavy looking for pictures?

Re: bridesmaid shoes- HELP!!

  • Honestly, they do look heavy to me :/

    What about:

    Still looking :)

  • Those are cute... I think I tend to shy away from tapered heels because I have wobbly ankles and fall sometimes when I wear them- though they whould be good.. My girls usually don't wear heels like I do.

I just found these 2 too...

I do half want to just say buy shoes but they asked for ideas...
  • I like your more expensive option in your second post. Are the dresses long or short? I'm guessing that they are short, otherwise you wouldn't be too worried about the shoes :) I would personally go with something more subtle so they don't stick out when the girls are lined up for pictures. You don't want the shoes being the focus.

  • I like your more reasonable option in your second post :)

I personally like these better b/c they do look "lighter" in comparison
...nice find! I also like the "more reasonable" ones from OP.

  • Are you adamant about all of the girls having the same shoes?

If not, just let them pick out what they want to wear. They will be able to find shoes that they each feel comfortable in, instead of you picking one and hoping that its comfortable for everyone

This tends to be my vote.  At the end of the day I don't think it REALLY matters if the BM's shoes match.  If it were me, I'd pick a color/style and let the girls get shoes that they find comfortable/might wear again.  (My BM's are wearing long dresses so they are wearing whatever shoes they want)

<div>I think they're choosing their own shoes, they were just looking for inspiration on what direction they should be going in.</div>

<div>I vote for this too. I would hate to be a BM in a wedding where I had to wear uncomfortable shoes.</div>

  • I'm okay with different shoes but I was aiming for similar color/style.

My girls wear sneakers, merrils, and flip flops.  They are all busy moms and don't have time to just randomly go shoe shopping. Everything I pick is so they can chase after thier kids the day of without falling over ;-) So comfy and being able to move is essential.

They live in 2 states and Asia (who HAS to order online) so I'm trying to find some options. The dresses are tea length so the shoes will be showing.

Thanks for the feedback... we'll see what they say :-)
