Yet another invite question...

I am posting from an alias to protect people's feelings from being hurt by asking advice here.

I am getting married August 25th and sending out the invites next month. Do I send my fiance's sister a +1 on her invite? I am not sure how to field this situation. She has a history of having turbulent unstable relationships. I just found out she is currently "dating" someone, but have no what his name is. She won't likely tell me his name if I ask either. She has a way of diverting questions she doesn't want to answer. Anyway, odds are she won't be with this guy by the wedding. No one on my guest list is getting a "+1". They will be invited with their SO if they have one. What's the best way to proceed with this?

    If she's in a relationship then you really do need to invite the SO - because at that point it's no longer a plus one. Just wait until right before you send out the invitations and try to get the name of FSILs bf - who knows, she might not be dating him by then.

    [QUOTE]Cross that bridge when it's time to mail out invitiations.  You won't be mailing them until the end of June so just wait until then to see if she's dating anyone.  If she can't give you the individual's name when invitations go out, I'd assume the individual doesn't exist and invite her solo. If she gives you her boyfriend's name, invite him.

    Even for destination weddings, you still send out invitations 8 weeks in advance.

    However, if she is in a relationship at the time that you send out invitations, you should invite that person.  If they break up, the implication is that he is no longer invited, and she no longer gets a +1.  FSIL's BF should be listed by name on the inner envelope.

    We are only inviting fiances and husbands and not bf/gfs. The only exception is my sister's boyfriend and that's because 1. he lives with us and 2. he is proposing soon. Base it upon if you have a good relationship with the new BF or not.
