Aribella Events?

Hi! I'm new to the board. I've been lurking on and off since getting engaged last month. I have no idea what to put in an intro, but I have two awesome cats and I love to travel. :)

Anyway, thinking about wedding planning makes me feel so overwhelmed and I am thinking about just doing the whole wedding planner route. Has anyone here used Aribella Events? I was at a bridal show two weeks ago and met Tonia (sp?) and really liked her but I want to hear from other people before booking.

Oh, and would it be weird to ask her for references from past brides?

    This is random but I won a gift certificate for their services at the Radnor Bridal Show (not sure if thats the same one you are talking about) and I'm not going to use it, so I'd be more than happy to send it to you if you end up going with them.  I'll have to check when I get home but I'm pretty sure the gift certificate is for $500 off one of their services.

    I've never heard of this company (but that doesn't necessarily mean anything).  It's totally appropriate to ask her for references and to contact those references - especially if you want her to do the majority of your planning!  A bunch of us on this board (myself included) are using wedding planners of some sort or another, so I'm sure we could all make other recommendations if you can't find reviews about Aribella.

    I definitely don't think it's out of line to ask for references. Do a google search of them too and see what comes up.

    I haven't heard much about Aribella Events but I met Tonia at the Radnor Bridal show and she was so very nice. I asked lots of questions and got actual in-depth answers instead of being told I need to schedule a consultation. I never got the "hard sell" which I really like. If there is room in my budget to hire a Day-of Consultant (keeping my fingers crossed) I'd very seriously consider Tonia from Aribella. There are a few reviews on wedding wire and they are all really positive.

    Go ahead and give it away! I'd feel bad taking it if we don't use it. Convincing FI that we NEED (lol) a planner is taking more than I anticipated.
