    Work was OK for me. Tonight has sucked.

    FI has been backpacking since Thursday morning. He was scheduled to be home tonight around 7, and I was going to pick him up at his buddy's house 5 minutes from here. He's still 3 hours away (it's almost 9). They had car trouble almost immediately after they left the park they were hiking in (so, around 3 they broke down), and have been dealing with that ever since. The mechanic is closed now, so his buddy's wife is driving out to get them. She's already halfway there, so he should be home around midnight. I thought I was going to have to go get them until a few minutes ago. I just want FI home, and I know he's ready to be home. 

    I'm off to make his lunch for tomorrow so he doesn't have to in the AM.

    Ugh that sounds like such a mess. I hate it when FI works late - it must really suck to have such a long break, and then have this disappointment on top of that :( hope he gets home asap!

    This is the longest we've been apart in a couple of years. The next 3 hours will feel like an eternity. I know I'm lame and whiney.

    Anyway - what happened at work that was so sucktastic today?

    That's no fun Beads. I hope these hours fly by. Have you got a movie to put on or a book to read? My BF and I have been split most of the summer for jobs so I've watched a lot of movies. Evenings are the worst.

    I'm procrastinating studying for an hour. Then bed - I had a cold last week that I haven't been able to shake off.

    Hey guys!

    I'm drinking a vodka tonic and waiting for the storm to pick up.  Work is cancelled for tomorrow, so I have nothing to do but snuggle with my pets while enjoying a good rainy day and a Harry Potter book.  What could be better?

    I hope your FI gets home reeeaaaally soon, Beads!
